Abstract: An electric cooking apparatus including a main housing, a heated compartment and a steaming compartment in which the heated compartment is received within said main housing and is adapted to be heated by heating elements within said main housing, said heated compartment including a base portion, a continuous peripheral wall extending upwardly from the edge of said base portion and an aperture opposite said base portion which aperture is defined by the upper end of said peripheral wall; and at least a first steaming compartment including a first removable member having a liquid retainable base portion and a peripheral wall extending from said base portion wherein a plurality of apertures are formed in the peripheral wall at a level above the base portion to allow steam communication between the heated compartment and the steaming compartment.

Abstract: A improved portable electric hair dryer comprises a retractable power cord storage reel (25) which is placed intermediately between the inlet (22) and outlet (21) of the hair dryer with the median plane of the power cord reel (25) substantially normal to the axis of the barrel (20). The hair dryer is provided with a controller which protects the hair dryer from overheating due to blockage of the air-passageway between the inlet and outlet as a result of the loaded power cord reel. The controller causes the power supply to the hair dryer to be cut off when its sensing unit detects a amount of power cord (40) being carried on the cord reel (25) exceeds a safe limit. This hair dryer is also provided with a hand sensor (31) so that power supply will be cut of when an operating hair dryer is left un-attended. An ionizer is also provided on the hair dryer so that the blown dried hair has less affinity for dust.

Abstract: The present invention provides an UV light-emitting source in or adjacent to the styling portion of a hair and/or animal fur care or styling appliance.The present invention incorporates an UV light emitting source into the hair styling appliance so that as the hair is being styled, the hair, the scalp as well as the appliance itself can be disinfected. Accordingly, while styling hair and/or fur, the present invention can facilitate the killing of micro-organisms including spores, virus, fungus, bacteria and lice residing on hair and/or fur as well as on the appliance itself.

Abstract: An improved low-cost and high efficiency automatic baking apparatus for bread or cake having a non-removable baking container in which there is provided a stirring blade for ingredients mixing or dough kneading, the baked product can be retrieved from the baking container by a retrieving device which has a base portion and an arm portion, the base portion is placed below the stirring-blade and is adapted to receive the bulk of the baked product, part of the arm portion is exposed from the baked product so that the base portion can be removed by lifting the exposed portion of the handle, significant reduction in material and process costs is obtained since the built-in baking container eliminate the need of an extra shielding wall between the baking container and the heating elements.

Abstract: A hair drying apparatus comprising a conventional hand-held hair dryer, a hair dryer holder, a power cord retainer and a base, wherein the hair dryer holder has features for removably receiving the hair dryer, for making an elevation adjustment for the hair dryer and for maintaining the position of the barrel of a hair dryer, the power cord retainer comprises features for storing and releasing a length of flexible power cord, such that when the hair dryer is detached from the hair dryer holding means, the hair dryer is connected to the base by a length of flexible cord released from the power cord retainer. In addition, a detachable wall-mount member may be added to this apparatus, making it transformable between hand-held, table-top and wall-mount types of hair dryer which would offer a high degree of flexibility particularly to consumers.

Abstract: An attachment for a hair dryer is provided which is allowed to move relative to the barrel of the hair dryer in use. This is achieved by forming the attachment in two parts, a first part being a tool member for actually performing the desired function of the attachment, and the second part being a connecting member for fixing the attachment to the barrel of the hair dryer. Each of these parts is formed with a complementary part-spherical portion which are disposed one within the other to form a rotatable joint in the manner of a ball-and-socket joint. The attachment can take any of a number of conventional forms.

Abstract: A handheld electrically powered hair dryer includes a main outlet nozzle and secondary air outlets for producing a diffuse distribution of air. A baffle arrangement is moveable between first and second positions to selectively deflect some or all of the air from the nozzle to the secondary air outlets. The baffle arrangement consists of a flexible crown-shaped metal foil disposed on the inside of the nozzle, and a mechanism for bending the foil radially inwardly to partially or completely block the nozzle when the baffle is moved toward the second position.
