Abstract: A recording material of Ag1-xSbx (x=10.8˜25.5 at. %) films for WORM optical disk recording media is invented. The thermal analysis shows that the phase change temperature of AgSb film is between 250 and 270?. The optical property analysis shows that all the as deposited films have good optical absorption and high reflectivity. The X-ray Diffraction analysis shows that the as deposited film and the annealed film are kept at ??-AgSb crystalline phase. The TEM analysis shows that the grain size of the Ag80.9Sb19.1 film will grow after annealing. The dynamic test shows that the carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR) of the Ag80.9Sb19.1 optical disc is about 45 dB with ?=657 nm, NA=0.65 and a linear velocity of 3.5 m/s. These Ag1-xSbx films have good optical absorption, high reflectivity and good carrier-to-noise ratio. It can be used as the WORM optical disk recording film.

  • Publication number: 20090122375
Abstract: In a holographic information recording and reproducing apparatus, an optical fiber guides a reference beam toward a recording medium for holographic recording, and a precision rotator is turned, so that the reference beam is incident on the recording medium at different angles and interferes with a data-carrying signal beam to complete the recording of holographic information on the recording medium. To reproduce the holographic information, the optical fiber guides a reading beam, and the reading beam is incident on the recording medium at an angle the same as the reference beam for the recording to reproduce the holographic information stored on the recording medium. With the optical fiber and the precision rotator, a simplified light path system and a wide range of incident angles for the reference and reading beams may be achieved, and the transmissive, reflective, and 90-degree holographic storage techniques may be integrated in one single apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20080222669
Abstract: A disk protecting plate includes a disk-shaped plate body having a central through hole. The plate body is provided on one side with a centered and low-raised annular wall, and a plurality of reinforcing ribs radially outward extended from the annular wall. Each of the reinforcing ribs has a top gradually inclined toward an outer circumferential periphery of the plate body. The disk protecting plate with the radially outward inclined reinforcing ribs may be made with reduced material to obtain a reinforced overall structural strength without forming an excessively thick outer periphery, and a plurality of disks concentrically stacked and packaged between two pieces of the disk protecting plates could therefore be effectively protected against damage caused by compression or impact against the disk protecting plate.

  • Patent number: 6785218
Abstract: A copy-limit pre-recorded CD (Compact Disc) and a copy-limit method protect the data recorded on the pre-recorded CD from copied onto a recordable CD. The pre-recorded CD (Compact Disc) includes a data area of the pre-recorded CD and an indivisible file. The storage capacity of a data area of the recordable CD is Z. The indivisible file is stored in the data area of the pre-recorded CD and has a file size Y which approximately ranges between Z+10 MB and Z+100 MB. The copying action is prohibited to proceed when the indivisible file with a size is larger than the storage capacity of the data area of a recordable CD is determined.

  • Patent number: 6283282
Abstract: A low-profile compact disk (CD) case includes pivotally connected top cover and bottom seat to provide an inner space for receiving a compact disk therein. The bottom seat is integrally formed on an inner surface with a central holding means and a plurality of protective means. The central holding means is a short hollow cylinder upward projected from the bottom seat and has spaced cuts along its circumferential wall to provide a plurality of flexible catch pawls for holding a compact disk in place. First and second protective means are low-raised ribs for supporting and preventing the compact disk from direct contact with the bottom seat, and the third protective means are raised curved ribs higher than the first and the second ribs and the compact disk for protecting the compact disk from compression by the top cover. No extra CD deck is required and an overall height or thickness and production costs of the CD case can therefore be largely reduced.

  • Patent number: 6283280
Abstract: A compact disc container includes a box defining a unitary space in which a tube projects upwardly from a bottom center thereof. A seat located around a lower outer end of the tube extends upwardly from a bottom surface of the box. The tube has a locking hole provided near a top thereof for a locking knob to engage and tighten thereto. More than one compact disc may be superimposed in the box around the tube with a lowermost compact disc supported on the seat without frictionally contacting the bottom surface of the box. The locking knob is tightened to the locking hole in the tube and locates the superimposed compact discs in the box. The unitary space of the box allows accommodation of more than one compact disc and effectively reduces costs otherwise needed for packing the compact discs individually.
