  • Publication number: 20120069717
Abstract: The column-wheel (1) for a chronograph includes: a ratchet (2) provided with a plurality of teeth (3) the shape of which defines the direction of rotation of the column-wheel; a superstructure coaxial to the wheel and having n>=3 order rotational symmetry, the peripheral part of the superstructure forming n columns (10) parallel to the wheel axis and arranged substantially along the periphery of the ratchet (2), each column including an outer part, the cross-section of which is substantially shaped like a truncated triangle with a base substantially parallel to the circumference of the wheel and a front side (12), called the leading edge, and a back side (13), called the trailing edge, extending from the base towards the interior of the wheel. The column-wheel is characterized in that said cross-section is asymmetrical, a first angle ? between the leading edge (12) and the base (14) being smaller than a second angle ? between the base and the trailing edge (13).

  • Patent number: 7731416
Abstract: During normal use, the time indicator (2) is driven by a mechanism (3) controlled by the gear train (4) of the timepiece. This mechanism is arranged for uncoupling the gear train from the indicator when the time-setting member (1) is actuated, this action causing the indicator to move forward through a step of one hour. The time-setting member includes a push-button (5) which actuates a device (6) that in turn acts on said mechanism (3).

  • Patent number: 5699321
Abstract: A timepiece such as a watch carries a date ring with a window display. The ring carries an engaging system capable of driving at the end of each month an annual ring having twelve or twenty four external teeth and five internal teeth. A calendar driving wheel set has a first finger capable of driving the date ring and a second finger capable of driving the annual ring. At the end of a month of thirty days, one of the five internal teeth of the annual ring appears on the path of the second finger and drives this ring in its travel, such ring, from being driven becomes a driving wheel and, via the engaging system, causes the date ring to advance to the first of the following month. A manual correction remains necessary at the end of the month of February.

  • Patent number: 5432759
Abstract: The annual calendar mechanism includes a calendar driving wheel (18) provided with a finger (17) adapted to drive a date wheel (19) through one step at the end of each month. An annual wheel (25), driven through two steps once per month by a long tooth (23) borne by an intermediate wheel (21), itself meshing with the date wheel (19), includes a plate (27) bearing five teeth (28). If one of these five teeth, corresponding to one of the months of less than thirty-one days, comes into the path of finger (17), the annual wheel, from being driven, becomes driving and drives the date wheel through an additional step via the intermediate wheel.

  • Patent number: 5253225
Abstract: This invention concerns a compass watch as well as a bezel specifically intended to fit out such a watch. The invention comprises at least one time indicating element (4) kinematically driven in rotation by a mechanical or electromechanical horometric movement, and particularly intended to be pointed towards the sun, and direction indicating means (N, S, W, E) arranged on said watch enabling one to know, as a function of the orientation of said indicating means (4), the direction of at least one of the cardinal points, and is characterized in that it includes correction means (52; 16, M) for the positioning of the cardinal points, adapted to take into account the equation of time and to correct any variation between true solar time and the legal or local time of day. The invention is applied to a watch, preferably of the mechanically or electromechanically driven type.

  • Patent number: 4551725
Abstract: The system comprises a mobile device mounted (2) on each moving body, a fixed receiving antenna (3) and means for processing (4) the identification signals emitted by the mobile devices (2). The frequency of these identification signals is representative of the respective moving bodies. In addition, a transmitter (22) is provided to send the devices (2) a control signal that serves, on the one hand, to allow power supply to be applied to means for generating the identification signals and, on the other, serves as reference signal for those means, which do not have their own time base. This system is particularly well suited to the timing of automobile races.
