  • Patent number: 10193622
Abstract: A processor receives data associated with a device. On the basis of the data associated with the device, the processor modulates a light from the artificial light source at a rate imperceptible to a human eye while detectable by a light sensor device. The modulated light is representative of the data associated with the device. The modulated light is detected, demodulated, and decoded by the light sensor device to retrieve the data associated with the device. Further, the data associated with the device is presented by the light sensor device to a user. In addition, the light sensor device is configured to receive input data from the user and communicate the input data to the processor via a wireless link. The processor is configured to receive the input data from the light sensor device and effect a change in a characteristic of the device based on the received input data.

  • Patent number: 10190747
Abstract: An optic configured to create an asymmetric pattern of illumination includes a cavity defined by a sidewall. The cavity is oriented to receive light emitted by a light source that is disposed adjacent a light source receiving end of the cavity. Further, the optic includes a totally internally reflective surface that extends circumferentially about the sidewall and is tapered, so as to reflect emitted light that passes through the sidewall of the cavity and into a body of the optic. The totally internally reflective surface can have a form that is different on opposing sides of the cavity. Furthermore, the optic includes a convex surface that is disposed at a light emitting end of the sidewall to condense, focus, or collimate emitted light from the light source.

  • Patent number: 10181383
Abstract: An actuator system for operating a switch is described herein. The actuator system can include a shaft of a handle assembly. The shaft couples to a handle and a male coupling element and has a number of positions. Further, a coupling body of a switch assembly can be positioned in the number of positions. The coupling body engages the switch and has a female coupling element, which has a slotted portion that receives the male coupling element and an angled terminus that aligns the shaft to a first position as the shaft couples to the coupling body. The slotted portion receives and engages the male coupling element when the shaft is coupled to the coupling body. The slotted portion prevents the male coupling element from disengaging when the coupling body is in a second position, and disengages the male coupling element when the coupling body is in the first position.
