  • Publication number: 20230146664
Abstract: Engineered FnCas9 variants are provided that have an enhanced kinetic activity and a broader PAM recognition. The protein engineering methodology introduced specific mutations that stabilized interaction between Cas9 enzyme and target DNA. The enhanced kinetic activity increases NHEJ-mediated editing, owing to more efficient DSB generation potential than WT FnCas9, and the broadened PAM specificity increases the target range of FnCas9 variants. Thus, the scope and accessibility of CRISPR-Cas9 system targets are widened, along with generating robust and highly specific engineered FnCas9 variants.

  • Patent number: 11634573
Abstract: UV shielding bio-derived furanic polymers (BFP) and UV-shielding composite films containing BFP having another polymer of natural or synthetic origin at varying concentration with high thermal stability, mechanical stability and elasticity are prepared through solvent evaporation casting. A process for preparing BFP having varying physicochemical properties can be carried out via dehydration of various biomass saccharides in different solvents employing various catalysts. The resulting brown-colored films show excellent UV shielding in the region 200 nm to 400 nm and exhibit high optical transparency. The UV shielding efficiency of the film increases with an increase in its treatment temperature. The films are stable and durable in terms of mechanical stability and elasticity even after exposing to harsh conditions without affecting their UV-shielding efficiency.

  • Patent number: 11543772
Abstract: A method for optimally producing a holographic image using a Holographic Optical Element (HOE) and the HOE meant for controlling directions and divergences of light beams to impart system compactness. The system uses concave and convex lenses and other beam expanding, splitting, modulating and combining optics for realization of compactness and high throughput. The thin laser beam is split using a holographic optical element and a conventional beam splitter. A neutral density filter adjusts the intensity of a reference beam to match the intensity of an object beam so that high quality digital holograms can be recorded. Effects of vibrations are minimized by the compact optical design, by anti-vibration mounts, by mounting all the opto-mechanical components on a single rigid platform and by enclosing the system. An electro-optical sensor array records holograms digitally and an algorithm numerically reconstructs and further quantifies the results using a personal computer/laptop/tablet etc.
