Abstract: In a speech device for a hands-free system in a vehicle, at least one microphone is arranged on a guide element encompassing a safety belt. The guide element is fixed to a free end of a holding element, along which there is arranged a first line section of a signal line and/or a supply line of the microphone. One attachable end of the holding element that is opposite the free end, can be fixed in particular to a vehicle seat associated with the safety belt by means of a detachable mechanical connection that comprises at least one electric contact for the microphone.
Abstract: A method and a device for carrying out a work operation, on a workpiece continually moving forward on a conveying device, by an industrial robot moving along with the workpiece during a common run though a work path are provided. The industrial robot is displaceable along a separate longitudinal guide next to the conveying device. During the common run a base part of the industrial robot is rigidly coupled to a workpiece carrier, and the base part floats relative to a bogie running in the longitudinal guide. The industrial robot includes an exchangeable tool which, at the beginning of the common run through the working path, is a scanner tool connected to a working arm of the industrial robot. A relative position between the work piece and the workpiece carrier is determined from the reference coordinate system of the industrial robot.
Abstract: A fuel cell system includes at least one fuel cell with an anode region and a cathode region, a burner for burning exhaust gases from the fuel cell and also additional fuel that may optionally be supplied, and a storage volume for intermediate storage of exhaust gases that flow away continuously or discontinuously via a valve from the anode region of the fuel cell, the storage volume being arranged between the anode region and the burner. The hot exhaust gases of the burner are expanded in an expansion device. A method of the operation of a fuel cell system involves controlling an additional valve after the storage volume.
Abstract: An opportunity for stimulating an occupant of a vehicle seat in order to activate his/her body and mind is provided. For this purpose, a vehicle seat system includes a vehicle seat with a massage device for influencing the seat contour integrated into the seat back and a control unit for controlling the massage device. The system also includes a communication device that can transmit at least one instruction to an occupant of the vehicle seat in response to the control of the massage device.
Abstract: A powertrain system includes an engine mechanically coupled to an electro-mechanical transmission selectively operative in one of a plurality of transmission operating range states and one of a plurality of engine states. A method for controlling the powertrain system includes determining a current transmission operating range state and engine state, determining at least one potential transmission operating range state and engine state, determining preferability factors associated with the current and potential transmission operating range state and the engine state wherein the preferability factors associated with potential transmission operating range states include transmission input speed trip preferability factors, preferentially weighting the preferability factors for the current transmission operating range state and engine state, and selectively commanding changing the present transmission operating range state and engine state based upon the preferability factors.

Abstract: A wind deflector for a vehicle is provided. The wind deflector includes a movably mounted deflector element and an actuator for moving the deflector element. The actuator can move the deflector element in a linearly oscillating manner in one direction in space, especially vertically. The linear movement can be performed regardless of a curvature of a class A surface of a vehicle.

Abstract: A restraining system includes a restraining volume that is bounded by a cladding, and is deployable by expansion of the restraining volume, to restrain or protect an object or person. Deployment of the restraining volume by expanding it into a restraining position is performed by a mechanical enlarging unit, rather than by a pyrotechnic gas generator, so that the restraining system may be restored to a storage position following a deployment.

Abstract: Use of noble metal alloy catalysts, such as PtCo, as the cathode catalyst in solid polymer electrolyte fuel cells can provide enhanced performance at low current densities over that obtained from the noble metal itself. Unfortunately, the performance at high current densities has been relatively poor. However, using a specific bilayer cathode construction, in which a noble metal/non-noble metal alloy layer is located adjacent the cathode gas diffusion layer and a noble metal layer is located adjacent the membrane electrolyte, can provide superior performance at all current densities.

Abstract: In solid polymer electrolyte fuel cells, an oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalyst may be incorporated at the anode along with the primary hydrogen oxidation catalyst for purposes of tolerance to voltage reversal. Incorporating this OER catalyst in a layer at the interface between the anode's primary hydrogen oxidation anode catalyst and its gas diffusion layer can provide greatly improved tolerance to voltage reversal for a given amount of OER catalyst. Further, this improvement can be gained without sacrificing cell performance.
Abstract: A single cell with a cell housing is provided. The cell housing is formed from two housing side walls and an electrically insulating frame arranged between them. An electrochemically active stack is arranged inside the cell housing, of which electrodes of equal polarity are electrically conductively connected to each other to form a pole. The poles are electrically conductively connected to one of the housing side walls. At least one of the housing side walls is formed to extend completely over an edge region of the frame, wherein the projecting region forms a cooling element.
