Patent number: 4573201Abstract: Data on the characteristic point on the contours of unit patterns such as characters, marks, patterns and/or the like are stored in a memory. The data are then read out as needed and then subjected to magnification-changing processing such as enlargement or reduction, rotation processing and/or the like. The resulting unit pattern data are then arranged in accordance with a given layout so as to establish desired positional relationship among the unit patterns. The thus-arranged pattern data are then converted into one-dimensional time series data so as to ON-OFF control the scanning and exposing means of a one-dimensional output unit. The above method permits to process a pattern in a single step. The specification also discloses a system useful in the practice of the above method.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1983Date of Patent: February 25, 1986Assignee: Dainippon Screen Seizo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Hideshi Hashiyama, Shuichi Araki, Michio Ogura

Patent number: 4566016Abstract: A desired picture or pattern such as a wiring pattern may be recorded on a recording surface bearing a photosensitive material coated thereon by sweeping a light beam obtained from a light beam source and then scanning, with the thus-swept light beam, the recording surface. A portion of the swept light beam is branched out by a half-mirror and then fed to optical sweep position detecting means. The light beam from the light beam source is modulated by a picture signal obtained in synchronization with a position signal produced by the detecting means on the basis of the thus-detected portion of the swept light beam in such a way that the thus-modulated light beam is continuously maintained, at least, at such a low light quantity level that is too small to expose the photosensitive material substantially. The method is useful for the fabrication of distortion-free printed circuits.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1984Date of Patent: January 21, 1986Assignee: Dainippon Screen Seizo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Tatsunosuke Masuda

Patent number: 4558214Abstract: Disclosed is an improved transmission illumination device for use in a picture scanning device such as an electronic picture scanner which can illuminate an annular region around an illuminated spot. This annular illuminated spot is produced by using an annular convex lens as part of an optical system. Since the area surrounding the illuminated spot is also illuminated, finding a desired spot on an original picture is greatly facilitated. Having an illuminated annular region does not create any problem which may arise from flare light if an iris diaphragm is provided in a light receiving head for the exclusion of the light emitted from the illuminated annular area.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 1983Date of Patent: December 10, 1985Assignee: Dainippon Screen Seizo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Teruo Fujii, Mikizo Katsuyama
