Abstract: Provided is a method and an apparatus for producing a polyvinyl alcohol that can reduce energy consumption without deterioration in quality of the product polyvinyl alcohol. First, one or more vinyl esters are polymerized or a vinyl ester and other copolymerizable monomers are copolymerized to give a polyvinyl ester. Then, a raw saponification solution containing the polyvinyl ester and an organic solvent is fed through a channel 1 and a saponification catalyst-containing solution is introduced into the center of the channel. They are then mixed with static mixers 2 and the mixture 4 is subjected to saponification reaction, as it is placed on a belt 3.
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) fiber for artificial hair. The PVC fiber is manufactured by melt spinning a PVC resin composition with a nozzle, wherein the nozzle has a nozzle hole having a diameter D and a land length L, and a nozzle leading portion having a cone angle, and wherein a ratio of L/D is 1-3, a height of the nozzle leading portion is at least 4 mm, and the cone angle is 20°-90°. The resulting PVC fiber has an arithmetic mean roughness of 0.18-0.38 ?m and a maximum height of 0.5-3.5 ?m along a longitudinal direction, specified by JIS B 0601.
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a hyaluronic acid-methotrexate conjugate useful as a therapeutic drug for joint diseases. There is provided a hyaluronic acid-methotrexate conjugate useful as a therapeutic drug for joint diseases, wherein methotrexate is conjugated with a carboxyl group of hyaluronic acid through a linker containing a peptide chain consisting of 1 to 8 amino acids.
Abstract: A thermoplastic front frame having many small protrusions on the whole front face and many thorn-like sharp projections on the whole rear face. The frame is strongly forced onto a cloth with the front face of the frame being directed downwardly, so that the front protrusions cut into the cloth so as to temporarily secure the cloth to the frame. Thereafter, the peripheral portion of the cloth extending outside of the frame is folded upwardly and then further folded inwardly and pierced by the rear projections thereby being temporarily secured. Then, a heated iron is forced onto the rear projections to depress the head portions of the rear projections to cause the projection to make the head of each projection larger than the mesh of the cloth whereby the cloth is permanently secured to the frame. Then, the cloth covered frame so formed is integrally attached to the speaker box.
Abstract: A portable stereo audio apparatus consists of a pair of speaker cabinets each containing a loudspeaker and a main cabinet containing electric devices such as amplifiers and a radio receiver. The speaker cabinets and the main cabinet are in the form of rectangular boxes. The speaker cabinets have half the width of the main cabinet and are normally set on the main cabinet. The speaker cabinets are hinged at their lower outer edge to each upper outer edge of the main cabinet so that when the audio apparatus is used as a stereophonic system the speaker cabinets are rotated about the hinges and located at both side of the main cabinet. The speaker cabinets have the edge diagonally opposite the lower outer edge, i.e., the upper inner edge, so formed as to provide gripping means when the speaker cabinets are rotated about the hinges and located on top of the main cabinet that enable the apparatus to be gripped by one hand and toted about.
