  • Patent number: 4991101
Abstract: A data communication control system includes first and second control units each having a microcomputer, the second control unit carrying out a first interrupt processing which starts in accordance with a first timing signal having a first period, and a second interrupt processing which starts in accordance with a second timing signal having a second period, the second interrupt processing being for the second control unit to receive data transferred from the first control unit. The second timing signal is generated in the first control unit in such a manner that adjacent ones of the second timing signal have values of the second period different from each other. Therefore, even if the first interrupt processing and the second interrupt processing conincide with each other the coincidence is not continued whereby transfer of data can be reliably carried out.

  • Patent number: 4986117
Abstract: In a method for detecting the fuel injection performance of a fuel injection valve in which a nozzle needle biased by a spring member for establishing valve opening pressure is lifted off from the valve seat when pressurized fuel is supplied thereto, electric data corresponding to the wave form of the shock wave produced in the spring member when fuel is injected is detected at one end of the spring member, and time-course change in the pressure of injected fuel acting on the nozzle needle during the fuel injection operation is determined on the basis of the time-course change in magnitude of the shock wave returning from the nozzle needle side end in the spring member by reflection, whereby various fuel injection factors can be calculated from the determined pressure of injected fuel acting on the nozzle needle during the fuel injection operation.

  • Patent number: 4986741
Abstract: A vane compressor has a communication passageway extending between a discharge pressure chamber and vane back pressure chambers. A valve is formed of a ball received within a ball-receiving bore and displaceable for opening and closing the communication passageway depending upon discharge pressure, a coiled spring urging the ball toward a valve opening position, and a stopper for stopping the ball in the valve opening position. The ball-receiving bore has an axial length smaller than an inner diameter thereof such that part of the ball is projected from the ball-receiving bore into the discharge pressure chamber when the ball is in the valve opening position.

  • Patent number: 4984455
Abstract: A system for detecting the speed of an engine for a vehicle calculates the engine speed in accordance with a signal which is outputted from a main rotation sensor in accordance with the operation of the engine. In case the main rotation sensor is subjected to malfunction, the engine speed is calculated using a back-up signal. Namely, an auxiliary rotation sensor detects the rotation of a portion of a power transmission device. When the above portion of the power transmission device is connected to an output shaft of the engine, the signal from the auxiliary rotation sensor is used as the back-up signal. When the two are disconnected from each other, a signal, representing the condition of the operation of an actuator for controlling the amount of supply of fuel to the engine, is used as the back-up signal.

  • Patent number: 4979674
Abstract: A fuel injector includes a pressure chamber and/or a damper chamber to damp the movement of a plunger and a piston after fuel injection has ended. A fuel bypass communicates with the pressure chamber or damper chamber to prevent fuel pressure within the chamber from rising as a consequence of the damping action. The bypass prevents the pressure in the chamber from increasing to the point where the movement of the plunger would be reversed and pressurized fuel would once again be supplied to the nozzle causing secondary injection. The damper chamber and bypass thus serve to prevent bumping between the plunger and the surrounding cylinder and also to prevent secondary injection.

  • Patent number: 4977882
Abstract: A fuel injection pump of the type wherein the fuel injection timing is controlled by a timer and a solenoid-operated timing control valve. The timer has a high-pressure chamber and a low-pressure chamber which are defined at both sides, respectively, of a timer piston. The high-pressure chamber communicates with a high-pressure groove formed in the timing control valve through a passage. The low-pressure chamber communicates with the suction side of a feed pump through a low-pressure passage and also communicates with a low-pressure hole formed in the timing control valve through a passage. The timer piston is not provided with a passage mechanism which provides communication between a pump chamber and the high-pressure chamber. The pump chamber communicates directly with the high-pressure groove in the timing control valve through a fixed orifice disposed in the wall of the pump housing and a passage leading to the orifice.

  • Patent number: 4977992
Abstract: In an electronically controlled automatic transmission system including a gear transmission and a clutch, in which a target gear position is determined in accordance with map data for gear-shift control, it is discriminated whether or not the vehicle is in accelerating condition and necessary control for shifting up the transmission to the target gear position is carried out only when the vehicle is not in the accelerating state. Thus, when the driver presses hard on an accelerating member to accelerate the vehicle, a series operations for shifting up is not carried out, whereby the transmission is kept in its present gear position. The operation for shifting up can be carried out after the completion of the acceleration of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4974776
Abstract: An air-mix door control apparatus for automobile air-conditioners which is so constructed as to control the position of the air-mix door according to a deviation of the actual discharge air temperature from a target discharge air temperature calculated based on a set temperature, a vehicle compartment temperature, etc. A target position for the air-mix door is calculated according to a difference between the target discharge air temperature and the actual discharge air temperature at an interval which is shorter than the interval of calculation of the difference between the target air temperature and the actual discharge air temperature. With the control apparatus thus constructed, a stable and reliable control of operation of the air-mix can be achieved.

  • Patent number: 4971114
Abstract: An electromagnetic proportional pressure control valve includes a housing, and a spool slidably received in the housing. The spool has a pair of first and second pressure receiving portions which are equal to each other in effective pressure receiving area. A primary pressure in a primary port is applied to the first pressure receiving portion, and a secondary pressure in a secondary port is applied to the second pressure receiving portion. A form due to the primary pressure acts on the spool in a direction to increase the secondary pressure, and a force due to the secondary pressure acts on the spool in a direction to decrease the secondary pressure. A force of a spring and a force of an electromagnetic actuator also act on the spool in the opposite directions. A variation in the primary pressure directly appears in the secondary pressure.

  • Patent number: 4972333
Abstract: A scale pulse signal is produced whenever a revolution sensor detects a unit revolution angle formed an angle between cogs of poles. A time interval between the scale pulse signal is affected by an error in the formed angle. The time interval between the scale pulse signals can be corrected by using a correction coefficient detrmined by an actual value of the unit revolution angle detected by the revolution sensor and by a design value of the unit revolution angle, so that the time interval corresponds to the design value of the unit revolution angle.
