Abstract: A method of culturing bovine embryos by culturing said bovine embryos in a medium containing thiol compound, and also a method of transporting bovine embryos by transporting said bovine embryos in a medium containing thiol compound are disclosed. According to the present invention, it is possible to culture bovine embryos up to blastocyst stage efficiently in the medium containing low molecular thiol compound without in vivo culture or coculture using feeder cells. Also when low molecular thiol compound is added to the transportation medium for bovine embryos, almost 100% embryos are still viable after long distant transportation.

Abstract: Cryopreservation of primordial germ cells and germ cells, in which primordial germ cells or germ cells are separated from bird embryos before meiosis and are then suspended and frozen in a freezing medium containing a cryoprotective agent is useful for the conservation of species of birds, for the protection of rare species which are in danger of extinction and also for the production of transgenic animals, the production of novel animals having gene markers on a cellular level, the production of animals useful as disease models, the production of useful substances by genetic engineering, and the development of test methods for toxicity to germ-line cells.

Abstract: A system for managing milking-cows in stanchion stool for milking by which a cow is situated on a floor with her body being fixed in a standing position by supporting members and her neck being restricted in vertical movement by means of stoppers, with teatcups rising on the floor between the cow legs and fitted to her teats. The teatcups are individually set in predetermined positions, according to the peculiar teat positions of the cow.
