Abstract: A window shade assembly comprising a header, a bottom rail and expansible and contractable shade means attached to the header and bottom rail, and lift cords attached to the bottom rail and extending upwardly to the header and through a cord lock on the header and having lift cord operating portions extending downwardly from the cord lock means for raising and lowering the bottom rail, the lower ends of the operating portions of the lift cords are detachably mounted on the bottom rail to be raised and lowered with the bottom rail to reduce cord dangle and the detachable mounting is arranged to allow the lower end of the operating portion of each lift cord to detach from the bottom rail and separate from the operating portions of the other lift cords when the lower end of the lift cord is subjected to a tensile force in a direction away from the bottom rail, for child safety reasons.
Abstract: A plough for closing carton flaps, particularly major carton flaps and a process for making the plough. The plough is designed to cause the flaps to close at or near constant velocity so as to minimize disruptions on the manufacturing line. The plough is prepared by generating data describing the coordinates of a flap as it closes at or near constant velocity, using the data to generate additional data describing the contour of a plough necessary to close the flap at or near constant velocity, and causing the plough to be fabricated utilizing the contour data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition in which the pH is raised when diluted in the wash and which composition comprises (1) a surfactant system; (2) an N-containing compound and (3) metal salt from group 1B to 8B of the periodic table and/or a metal salt from group 3A or 4A of the periodic table. The N-compound and metal are believed to form a complex which reduces pH in product, but which raises pH when the complex dissociates in the wash. The invention further relates to a process of creating a pH jump system while laundering or cleaning hard surfaces using such a composition.

Abstract: A bag filter assembly utilizing a conventional housing and end cap construction includes a unique filter bag retaining cage and end cap adaptor which allow the use of replaceable bag filter elements of widely varying construction. The assembly will accommodate bag filter elements of the type having a shape retaining opening of rigid construction and including a shape-retaining bottom end cap or of the type comprising a generally continuous flexible tubular sleeve. The system is tolerant of the latter type of bag filters of substantially varying thicknesses.
Abstract: A cold start fuel control system as provided for an internal combustion engine of the type having at least one combustion chamber, an intake manifold and a source of fuel. A fuel vapor canister has an interior chamber fluidly connected to the source of fuel and a normally closed shut-off valve fluidly connected between the canister and ambient air. A normally closed purge valve is then fluidly connected in series between the interior of the canister and the intake manifold. The system also includes a cold start fuel injector having an inlet connected to the fuel source and an outlet open to the intake manifold or, optionally, to the interior of the fuel vapor canister. During a cold start engine condition, fuel is supplied as needed from both the fuel vapor canister and cold start injector by activating the cold start injector and simultaneously opening the purge and shut-off valves in synchronism with the engine intake cycle(s).
