Abstract: A system for identifying asserted signals includes a plurality of input ports, a priority encoding module, and a match module. The plurality of input ports receive one of a plurality of input signals. The priority encoding module is coupled to the plurality of input ports and outputs a signal indicating a highest-priority input signal that is asserted. The match module is also coupled to the plurality of input ports and receives a plurality of match detect signals from the priority encoding module. Each match detect signal is associated with a particular input signal and indicates whether another input signal having a higher-priority than the associated input signal is asserted. The match module also generates a multiple match signal based on the input signals and the match detect signals. The multiple match signal indicates whether more than one of the input signals is asserted.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of producing a high strength and high modulus elongated product comprising the steps of (a) making a composition comprising a semi-crystalline polymer and carbon nanotubes, (b) extruding said composition into an elongated product, and (c) stretching the product below the melting point of the polymer, wherein in step (a) the composition is a colloidal dispersion of nanotubes in a solution of the polymer. The advantages of the invention include production of elongated products, like fibers with higher tensile properties, especially strength, with a lower concentration of nanotubes than with a known method. The invention also concerns a high strength elongated product containing nanotubes obtainable by the method according to the invention, especially a polyolefin fiber containing nanotubes having a tensile strength of higher than 3.0 GPa.

Abstract: According to the invention, a process for the rectification of mixtures of high-boiling air- and/or temperature-sensitive substances which require a high separation efficiency is proposed, in particular a process for the working-up of a VE- or VEA-containing product stream. The process is characterized in particular in that, in a first purification stage, low-boiling products and unspecified isomers of the useful product are separated from the product stream virtually without loss of useful product and that, in a second purification stage, the useful product is removed in a stream having a purity of >97% by weight and a further stream having a purity of >92% by weight. A preferred embodiment of the process serves for working up VEA, in which the loss of useful product in the first purification stage is less than 5%, based on that amount of VEA in the feed which is added to the purification stage per unit time.
