Abstract: The present invention relates to a recording medium containing moving picture data and additional information thereof and to reproducing method and apparatus of the recording medium. The present recording medium has script files including additional information about moving picture data, e.g., scene descriptive text and introduction of characters, etc. In addition, information linking each script file with a section of moving picture data to be presented with contents of the script file is included in a link data file or is contained in a filename of the script file. In reproduction of the recording medium, a script file linked with presently reproduced moving picture data section is determined and searched for based on the link data file or every filename of the script files, and contents of the found script file are presented together with the presently reproduced moving picture data. Furthermore, previously presented additional information is removed depending on data or filename of the found script file.

Abstract: In a PLL frequency synthesizer, a loop is constituted by a phase comparison unit, a gate unit, a charge pump, a capacitive element, a potential adjustment unit, a voltage-controlled oscillator, and a feedback division unit. In this loop, the gate unit and the charge pump are provided in parallel with the potential adjustment unit. A charging/discharging current is input from the charge pump to the capacitive element and the potential of a first end of the capacitive element is adjusted by the potential adjustment unit, so that a phase difference between a reference oscillation signal and a feedback oscillation signal input to the phase comparison unit is small.

Abstract: An Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) comprising an integrated wireless receiver, a graphical display device, capability to utilize both internal and external GPS coordinate sources, an infrared background lighting adjustment algorithm, and a multi-LED strobe light array. The receiver provides a return communications path back to the beacon, which is used to acknowledge the receipt of the beacon's outgoing emergency signal by Search and Rescue satellites. The display is used to visually display various operational status information as well as any received messages coming back into the receiver. The GPS receiver system switches between internally derived and/or externally supplied GPS coordinates. The present invention also incorporates an Automatic Background Light Adjustment (ABLA) algorithm to compensate for the maximum range of light intensity encountered by infrared communications LEDs during daytime and nighttime operation.

Abstract: A method of performing hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) in a multiple-antenna system includes receiving a plurality of codewords through an uplink channel, generating acknowledgment (ACK)/not-acknowledgment (NACK) signals respectively for the plurality of codewords, and transmitting the plurality of ACK/NACK signals through a downlink channel in association with a resource used in transmission of the uplink channel. ACK/NACK signals for each codeword in multiple antenna system can be transmitted.

Abstract: A household budget book service system using mobile terminals is disclosed. The household budget book service system includes a master mobile terminal having budget book indexes for inputting a user's expenditures, capable of storing and sending any inputted expenditures, and receiving expenditures inputted in mobile terminals of the user's other family members that have been registered for integrated management of overall household expenditures, a budget book management server for receiving the expenditures inputted in the master mobile terminal and those inputted in each other family member's mobile terminal to control the operation of the master mobile terminal and capable of communicating with any card company's server and any bank's server, and a storing section connected to the budget book management server to store information sent from each mobile terminal according to the budget book indexes.

Abstract: An accessory system for a vehicle includes a windshield of a vehicle and a receiving structure attached at an in-cabin surface of the windshield. A structure is attached at the receiving structure. With the structure attached at the receiving structure, a cluster of individual sensors resides on or near the in-cabin surface of the vehicle windshield, and the cluster of individual sensors includes a forwardly-viewing camera. At least one of the individual sensors may (a) receive an input via a bus communication and/or (b) deliver an output via a bus communication. With the structure attached at the receiving structure, at least one of the individual sensors may be removable from the structure for service. At least one of the sensors may view through the windshield via a light transmitting aperture established in a light absorbing hiding layer at the windshield.

Abstract: A method for performing a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) by a relay station (RS) in a wireless communication system is provided. The method comprises performing HARQ with a mobile station (MS) by a fixed HARQ period; and performing HARQ with a base station (BS) by a HARQ period series, wherein the HARQ period series comprises a plurality of HARQ period series element (Xk,yk), where (Xk,yk) indicates that when data is transmitted in n-th subframe, an ACK/NACK signal is received in (n+xk)-th subframe and the data is retransmitted in (n+xk+yk)-th subframe when the ACK/NACK signal is a NACK signal, wherein at least one of xk and yk for one HARQ period in the HARQ period series is different from at least one of xk and yk for the other HARQ period in the HARQ period series.

Abstract: A washing machine which includes a lid assembly opening/closing a laundry entrance hole, wherein the lid assembly includes a lid frame and a lid inner coupled to an inside of the lid frame and having a hinge unit, is provided. The lid assembly may be easily assembled and maintain a secure coupling, thereby allowing for a reliable and stable washing machine. Further, the lid assembly may be easily opened or closed by the hinge unit, and this increases convenience.

Abstract: A method for performing band handover in a broadband wireless access system is provided. In this method, a terminal in a band AMC mode in which the terminal transmits and receives data through a band selected from among bands to which a modulation scheme and a coding rate are adaptively applied receives channel status information of each band of a neighboring base station. The terminal then performs handover to the neighboring base station while maintaining the band AMC mode if it is determined based on the received channel status information that a channel status of each band of the neighboring base station satisfies a predetermined condition. This band handover method enables handover to be performed for each specific frequency band of a mobile terminal.

Abstract: A 3D image display device with high resolution is disclosed. The device may deflect left and right eye images to a left and right eye of a viewer, respectively. As such, the viewer may see 3D images. The 3D image display device includes a plurality of electrically switchable light modulating cells containing two incompatible light modulating mediums. When a voltage is applied to electrodes of the electrically switchable light modulating cell, the interface between the incompatible light modulating mediums non-horizontally deforms corresponding to the electrowetting or electrostatic concept. The geometrical shape, size, and material of partition walls in the electrically switchable light modulating cells may reduce or eliminate misplacement of incompatible light modulating mediums while voltages are applied thereto. In addition, the method of manufacturing the 3D image display device is also disclosed.

On the other hand, if the ETT is a channel ETT, the table identification extension field includes a source identification which specifies a programming source of a virtual channel associated with the ETT. A section-filtering unit included in the DTV receiver is able to use table identification extension fields of a plurality of ETTs for section-filtering a pertinent event or channel ETT from the ETTs.
