Abstract: Disclosed are an operation control device of a compressor, which can reduce motor loss by applying an AC power to a motor of the compressor without a switching operation of a control unit, and a method thereof. The operation control device of the compressor comprises: a capacitor electrically connected to a motor of the compressor and having a predetermined capacitance; a control unit connected in series to the motor of the compressor and applying an AC power to the motor of the compressor according to a control signal; and a controller detecting a load variation amount on the basis of a current and voltage applied to the motor of the compressor and controlling on/off of the control unit according to the detected load variation amount.

Abstract: A method and system for processing buffer status reports (BSRs) such that when BSR triggering is performed, the size(s) of the necessary sub-header(s) are also to be considered together in addition to the BSR size. The steps of checking whether any padding region is available in a MAC PDU that was constructed, comparing the number of padding bits with the size of the BSR plus its sub-header, and if the number of padding bits is larger than the size of the BSR plus its sub-header, triggering BSR are performed. Doing so allows the sub-header(s) to be inserted or included into the MAC PDU or transport block (TB) or other type of data unit.

Abstract: A combined winding structure is provided. The combined winding structure includes a plurality of winding wires each having a winding portion in a hollow column form, an anodic portion and a cathodic portion; the anodic portions and the cathodic portions are integrally extended from the winding portions respectively. The winding portions each have a surrounding dimension, and the surrounding dimensions are mutually different. The winding portion with the smaller surrounding dimension is located inside and surrounded by the winding portion with the larger surrounding dimension. With these arrangements, the combined winding structure can have a larger equivalent cross-sectional area and lower production costs. A magnetic device is also provided, which includes the aforesaid combined winding structure.

Abstract: A controlling device has a configurable key. An overlay, such as a sticker, is provided to the configurable key and includes an indicia representative of media content and machine readable data indicative of an identity of the media content represented by the indicia. A memory of the controlling device stores a correspondence between the configurable key and data indicative of a source of the media content. Upon activation of configured, configurable key, the controlling device uses select command codes from a library of command codes and the correspondence between the configurable key and the data indicative of the source of the media content to transmit one or more commands for causing one or more appliances to access the source of the media content.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing a NAS procedure in a NAS module of a multi-mode terminal are disclosed. A method for performing a NAS procedure in a multi mode NAS (mNAS) module of a multi-mode terminal includes receiving a NAS procedure request signal from a user, and selecting a first NAS; transmitting the NAS procedure request signal to a NAS module corresponding to the first NAS; receiving a NAS procedure response signal, that includes an execution result of a NAS procedure between the NAS module corresponding to the first NAS and a network, from the NAS module corresponding to the first NAS; performing synchronization between the NAS module corresponding to the first NAS and a NAS module corresponding to a second NAS according to the NAS procedure execution result; and transmitting a NAS procedure response signal including the NAS procedure execution result to the user.

Abstract: A plasma display panel and a multi plasma display panel are disclosed. The multi plasma display panel includes a plurality of plasma display panels that are positioned adjacent to one another. Each of the plurality of plasma display panels includes a front substrate, a back substrate positioned opposite the front substrate, and a plurality of barrier ribs positioned between the front substrate and the back substrate. The plurality of barrier ribs partition a plurality of discharge cells. A size of a discharge cell in a boundary portion between two plasma display panels of the plurality of plasma display panels is greater than a size of a discharge cell in other portions.

Abstract: A mobile terminal outputs text-to-speech (TTS) voice data. The mobile terminal displays text data including link data on a display unit of the mobile terminal, selects the link data, receives an original data of the link data as a background process, converts the original data to the TTS voice data, and outputs the TTS voice data though a voice outputting unit of the mobile terminal.

Abstract: A method for communicating channel quality information in a multi-carrier wireless communication system is provided. The method includes receiving information related to a link between a first forward link carrier used to receive data from a base station and a first reverse link carrier used to transmit data to the base station, receiving information related to a link between a second forward link carrier used to receive data from the base station and a second reverse link carrier used to transmit data to the base station, and transmitting channel quality information for the first forward link carrier and for the second forward link carrier to the base station via a same reverse link carrier, where the first forward link carrier and the second forward link carrier are not the same and the first reverse link carrier and the second reverse link carrier are not the same.

Abstract: A system for storing multiple cord retractors comprises at least one cord retractor. Each retractor includes a first and second pair of pulleys mounted at opposite ends of a frame. An intermediate section of a cable is stored in the frame and has one end of the stored section fixed to the frame, with the other end extending from the frame. The stored cable section is at least partially wound over the pair of pulleys, and one pair of pulleys is slidably mounted for motion toward the other pair of pulleys. A damper is coupled to one of the second pair of pulleys, which engages the pulley to rotate about an axis to damp the rotary motion of one of the second pair of pulleys in such a manner that the intermediate storage section is in tension during retraction and withdrawal. The system further includes a bracket and a pin.

Abstract: A mobile terminal is provided that includes a housing having an opening, a display provided in the opening of the housing, a bezel provided on the housing, and at least one sensor or a touch screen/sensor provided at the bezel. The at least one sensor or touch screen detects a user selection on the bezel such that an image on the display changes or a command is performed by the mobile terminal. The sensor or the touch screen/sensor also allows images on the main display to be not hidden because items or commands are selected on the bezel.

Abstract: A DTV transmitting system includes two pre-processors. The first pre-processor codes high-priority enhanced data for forward error correction (FEC) and expands the FEC-coded data. The second pre-processor codes low-priority enhanced data for FEC and expands the FEC-coded low-priority enhanced data. The DTV transmitting system further includes a data formatter generating enhanced data packets including the pre-processed data, a multiplexer multiplexing the enhanced data packets with main data packets, an RS encoder RS-coding the multiplexed data packets, a data interleaves interleaving the RS-coded data packets, and a block processor which codes each block of enhanced data in the interleaved enhanced data packets and bypasses the interleaved main data packets.

More particularly, the present invention relates to a method and apparatus for transmitting uplink control information in the event that a plurality of cells is constructed, wherein the method comprises the following steps: receiving a PDCCH and/or a PDSCH; generating acknowledgement information on the PDCCH and/or PDSCH; and, if acknowledgement information transmission timing and channel state information transmission timing collide with each other, dropping the channel state information and transmitting only the acknowledgement information, or transmitting the acknowledgement information and the channel state information together in accordance with a predetermined condition.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of displaying directories differently based on attributes of files included therein. The present method examines a directory structure and the attributes of data files recorded on a recording medium, generates a mark for visually differentiating directories including at least one file of a pre-specified attribute, based on the examined attribute information, and displays a generated mark with the examined directory structure information. Owing to the present invention, a user can recognize directories including at least one file having a desired attribute at a glance, therefore, reproduction, selection, or copy for a file having a desirable attribute can be conducted very quickly.

Abstract: In a mobile communication system using both a discontinuous transmission scheme and a compressed mode transmission scheme, if a preamble and/or a postamble of a channel including control information for transmitting a specific channel overlaps a compressed mode (CM) gap, an overall transmission unit is not transmitted or remaining signals of the transmission unit excluding the preamble and/or the postamble overlapping the CM gap are transmitted.

Abstract: A portable data storage device receives data from a digital broadcast signal receiver that is adapted to separate the data from a digital broadcast signal. The portable data storage device includes a first transceiver that communicates with a second transceiver associated with the digital broadcast signal receiver and further includes a memory for storing the received data. A processor disposed within the portable data storage device controls the storage of the data and further causes a data request signal to be generated and transmitted to the digital broadcast signal receiver. A controller disposed within the digital broadcast signal receiver responds to the data request signal by causing the data separated from the digital broadcast signal to be transmitted via the second transceiver to the portable data storage device. The portable data storage device further includes a data communication port for transferring the data to a personal computer.
