    Abstract: Described herein is an automatic stamper for imprinting desired letters or characters on documents, which is of the type including a printing block having a plural number of stamp units mounted around the circumference of a drum, a support frame rotatably and detachably supporting the printing block, and a base structure having a document support surface and supporting thereon the support frame movably for a reciprocal movement toward and away from the document support surface. The stamp units are detachably mounted on stamp support surfaces on and around the circumferences of the drum such that the longitudinal axes of the respective stamp units are disposed parallel with the axis of the drum for the sake of compact construction, while the support frame is automatically driven from an electric motor which is adapted to be closed upon setting a document on the document support surface.

    Abstract: An envelope opener having a pair of entries in its opposite sides through which an envelope may enter the opener from either side to have its head automatically cut as it passes through the opener, comprises: cutters driven by a reversible electric motor; a lane for guiding the envelope, interrupted by the cutters; a pair of bar-type sensors swingably mounted crossing the lane, each being positioned in opposite sides of the cutters; a link connecting the sensors with each other to swing the sensors in synchronism when one is swung by an envelope passing through the lane; and contact assemblies coupled with the sensors, one of the assemblies being operated by the of the sensors to establish rotational directions of the motor and the cutters when the envelope entered the opener from either side swings one of the sensors to bring the other through the link into a position where the other of the contact assemblies coupled with the other of the sensors remains opened.

    Abstract: A paper punch sends out a tape carrying a number of punched-hole reinforcing pieces by the length of a single reinforcing piece interlockingly with the motion of a handle that raises and lowers a punching rod, sticking the reinforcing piece in the desired position of a sheet of paper placed on a base and, then, cutting a binding hole through the paper and reinforcing piece stuck thereon. The improvement is such that an insertion hole is provided in the handle to loosely pass through a horizontal pin that is attached to the punching rod so that the punching rod is kept from descending to perform a punching operation while the carrying tape is let out by the length of a single reinforcing piece in the early stage of the descending stroke of the handle. A pressing mechanism is provided so that the reinforcing piece supplied from the carrying tape into the desired position on the paper is firmly pressed against the paper before the punching rod cuts a hole therethrough.
