  • Patent number: 11736414
Abstract: An apparatus comprising a socket insert that is arranged in a receptacle of the apparatus. The socket insert is connected to an operating medium connector. In the receptacle a data interface is covered by the socket insert and inaccessible from outside. To obtain access to the apparatus software or data, the socket insert can be replaced by a service insert that covers the operating medium output but contacts the data plug. The service insert allows communication with the apparatus control to input or output data and/or programs. The arrangement of the service interface covered by socket inserts provides an effective means for access control to the service interface. It impedes or avoids non-authorized access to the interface and damages for persons and material that otherwise could occur due to the missing disruptive discharge proof potential separation between the service interface and particularly the power section of the apparatus control.

  • Publication number: 20230223141
Abstract: Instruments having plugs with data carriers containing codes identifiable as being correlated. The codes can be individual identifiers that are individually provided to the plugs. If plugs identical in construction of instruments of identical types are connected with apparatus or an apparatus group, e.g., a first plug of a used instrument and a second and third plug of a new instrument that replace the used instrument, the three inserted plugs are determined as not being part of the same instrument and an operation of the apparatus and thus the instruments is blocked.

  • Patent number: 11684410
Abstract: An electrosurgical instrument with first and second branches that are pivotably supported by a support pin is disclosed. The first branch has a first tissue contact surface and the second branch has a second tissue contact surface. The two tissue contact surfaces are electrically connected with an electric connection device at the first branch. The electric connection is at least partly established via a respective conductor. The second conductor is integrally formed by one single body. The second conductor has a contact section with at least one contact part in contact with an electrically conductive circumferential surface of the support pin, such that an electric rotation connection is established between the contact section and the support pin. In this manner the second conductor arranged in the first branch can establish an electric connection with the second branch via the support pin and further with the second tissue contact surface.

  • Patent number: 11684406
Abstract: The plasma sensor monitors parameters characterizing the condition of the plasma during the treatment phase and/or the change thereof in order to recognize a prefiguring or already occurred interruption of the plasma in this manner and to avoid this interruption and, in the ideal case, avoid this by already changing the voltage form previously. The mentioned mechanisms can be used by the control device (22) also during a pulse packet. The length of each pulse packet is adapted at each change of the voltage form according to their characteristics in order to guarantee a constant average power.

  • Patent number: 11684405
Abstract: An apparatus (14) for supplying a medical instrument (15) for the treatment of biological tissue (11) due to the action of a plasma (28) is disposed, in accordance with the invention, in a special manner for the ignition and the stable development of a plasma (28) on the electrode (27) of the instrument (15). To accomplish this, the apparatus (14) comprises a control device (23) that, during an ignition test, limits—preferably in an instrument-specific manner—the current deliverable to the instrument (15) and/or limits the electrical power to be output to the instrument (15), and/or, in doing so, works with a reduced operating voltage. With this measure, a rapid, stable plasma development with minimal spark play is achieved with a large variety of connectable instruments (15a-15e).

  • Patent number: 11684409
Abstract: An electrosurgical instrument (10) with two branches (11, 12) that are pivotably supported at each other by means of a pivot joint (13) is disclosed. The pivot joint (13) has a support pin (34) and a support cavity (37). The support pin (34) is particularly torque-proof connected with one of the branches (11) or (12) and rotatably supported in the support cavity (37) of the respective other branch (12) or (11). Between the branches (11, 12) a seal (45) is provided that sealingly abuts at the two branches (11, 12) and that surrounds the support pin (34) completely in the circumferential direction. Preferably, the support pin (34) is sealingly connected with the respective branch (11, 12) at its axial ends. In doing so, entering of contaminants in the area between the support pin (34) and the support cavity (37) from all sides or access possibilities is inhibited.

  • Publication number: 20230148838
Abstract: An instrument according to the invention for medical or surgical treatment of a human or animal patient comprises at least one tool suitable for influencing a patient, e.g. an electrode, which is or are located in the field of view of an optical element. The optical element is arranged inside a channel in which a fluid flow can be maintained or can be caused in distal direction. The light passage window of optical element is offset relative to the distal opening of channel in proximal direction. A closure device is arranged between light passage window and opening of channel, which blocks passage of substances, particularly passage of liquid droplets and particles, from the opening to the light passage window as long as it is in closed position. If the closure device is open, it unblocks the fluid path and the light path between the light passage window to the opening. Preferably the closure device is controlled pneumatically by means of the liquid or gaseous fluid flowing inside channel.

  • Patent number: 11648051
Abstract: A surgical instrument includes a jaw tool with two branches that can be closed for grasping tissue. In order to transmit the closing force to at least one branch, the branch is coupled with a preferably manually actuatable pull/push element, and, for coupling, an actuating pin that supports a sleeve interacts via the sleeve with a coupling track, in which case the sleeve rolls off the coupling track. In this manner, any deformation, abrasion or burr formation on the coupling track is prevented to such an extent that, even after numerous closing movements of the branches, the branches can still be actuated unimpaired by any wear of the coupling track and the actuating pin, respectively.

  • Patent number: 11648050
Abstract: An instrument for coagulation and dissection of biological tissue including a tool with coagulation electrodes and at least one cutting electrode. The electrodes are actuated via an operating circuit including an evaluation circuit, to which an external apparatus delivers an evaluation signal with first and second half-waves having opposite polarities. During at least one first half-wave, the evaluation circuit checks whether a first switch or a second switch are actuated on the instrument. Depending on the evaluation result, a triggering signal is transmitted to a switching unit. Depending on the triggering signal, the switching unit is switched into a first or second switching state. In the second switching state, no voltage suitable for dissection and no current suitable for dissection, respectively, is applied to the cutting electrode. In the first switching state, a voltage suitable for dissection or a current suitable for dissection is applied to the cutting electrode.

  • Patent number: 11583329
Abstract: A cryosurgical instrument includes a feed line for conveying fluid into an expansion chamber. The feed line has a capillary line section that terminates in the expansion chamber and forms an aperture for the fluid to undergo the Joule-Thomson effect. The flow cross-section of the feed line decreases in at least one transition section of the feed line in the form of a funnel. Following each transition section there preferably follows a step section, in which latter section the flow cross-section is preferably largely constant. The last step section is preferably formed by the capillary line section. Due to the acceleration of the fluid in the transition sections and the abating of pressure fluctuations in the capillary tube section and, optionally in the additional step sections, the expansion range in the expansion chamber is increased, without impeding the backflow of the expanded gas out of the expansion chamber.
