Abstract: A frost resistant glycol-free coolant composition or process for cooling apparatus is used for cooling, with such composition, which comprises an aqueous solution of a water soluble alkali metal salt, or a mixture of two alkali metal salts. Particularly suitable alkali metal salts are alkali metal acetate and alkali metal formate. Depending on the nature of the particular alkali metal salt or salts, and the extent of frostproofness that is required, the compositon can further contain urea and/or a glycol antifreeze, such as ethylene glycol. Optionally a corrosion inhibitor can also be used.

Abstract: A fungicidal composition comprising as active ingredient a 2-(O-[substituted]alkyl)-2-thio-1,3,2-oxathiophospholane of the Formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1,R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 independently from each other stand for hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.2-6 alkynyl andX represents halogen, hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl or mercapto. The process for the preparation of the compounds of the Formula I involves phosphorous pentasulfide, alcohols and pyridine. The compositions are wide spectrum fungicides, particularly useful in combating Sclerotinia sp., Penicillium sp., Alternaria sp., Fusarium sp., Phytophthora infestans and powdery mildew.

Abstract: The invention relates to compositions useful for prolonging the action and increasing the selectivity of herbicide compositions containing .alpha.-chloroacetamide derivatives as active ingredient as well as to highly selective herbicide compositions containing .alpha.-chloroacetamide derivatives as active ingredients and optionally an antidote wherein an animal derivative of the general formula (III) is used for achieving the prolonged action and increased selectivity. Abstract: The invention relates to new compositions for increasing the cold resistance of cultivated plants.
