  • Patent number: 7449657
Abstract: Components for positioning devices that can be welded together via a resistance welding process. The one component exhibits at least one circulatory embossing that protrudes beyond its surface toward the connection side and that engages in the complementary recess of the other component. The embossing can be pressed into the recess during the resistance welding process. At least one of the components exhibits on the side spaced from the circulatory embossing additional embossings that limit the impression depth of the circulatory embossing of the one component into the recess of the other component. This is done such that the surfaces facing each other of the two components maintain a fixed distance to one another.

  • Patent number: 7416254
Abstract: Signaling device indicates when a folding backrest of a vehicle seat is in an unlocked position, and includes an actuating knob axially guided in a housing and which is pushed into its locked position by a compression spring. A stop is provided to prevent the actuating knob from extending further outwardly of the housing in its locked position. Actuating knob activates a locking mechanism via a mechanical transmission mechanism thereby allowing the backrest to be unlocked by pressing the actuating knob into the housing. This eliminates the need for a separate indicator device, given that when the actuating knob extends outwardly of the housing, the user can readily tell that the backrest is in its unlocked position. To enhance the signaling effect, the signaling portion of the actuating knob can be painted red, for example.

  • Patent number: 7172253
Abstract: Vehicle seat includes seat frame, an articulated backrest frame lockable by an angle adjuster adjustable between an upright basic position, a partially forwardly-folded easy-entry position, and a completely forwardly folded cargo position. A release shaft is pivotable by a release lever to release the angle adjuster. The backrest frame can only be moved out of the basic position into the cargo position by being folded forward into the easy-entry position, locked by resetting the release lever, then unlocked by actuating the release lever and folded forward into cargo position. An easy-entry mechanism includes the following: control cams on the backrest frame with an easy-entry stop, a locking hook articulated to the seat frame to engage the easy-entry stop, and a pushrod eccentrically articulated to the release shaft that, when the backrest is folded forward, is initially in an inactive position, and then releases the locking hook in an active position.

  • Patent number: 7090298
Abstract: An adjustment fitting for a seat such as an automobile seat including a fixed fitting operatively attached to a fixed seat area and a fitting that is operatively attached to a moveable seat area. The adjustment fitting is adjustable via a rotatable fitting. The fixed fitting part and fitting are connected together via a rotating adjusting device. Thus, an adjustment and locking mechanism that determines a position of the fixed fitting part and fitting with respect to each other provides a wobble drive. The rotating adjusting device includes a driven rotating adjusting element and an eccentric element rotatable about a swivel axis. The eccentric element includes crimped wedge segments having wide faces pushed apart by a spring. The eccentric ring is rotatable on a bearing shell with radial play that includes an outer bearing surface of Teflon. The bearing shell grips a collar of the fitting part that supports a collar of the driven rotating adjusting element so that it may rotate.

  • Patent number: 7055905
Abstract: The present invention relates to a motor vehicle seat with an adjustable reclining backrest, which is articulated to the seat frame on both sides using tilt adjusting fittings. Both tilt adjusting fittings are coupled to each other by a rigid connecting tube, which is formed as a hollow section or at least in the zone of the tilt adjusting fittings as a hollow section. It is used for the simultaneous adjustment of both tilt adjusting fittings by means of a driving device arranged on one side of the seat. The connecting element is fastened bilaterally to one of the two tilt adjusting fittings, so that it is secured on both sides against an axial movement. The object of the invention is to improve this type of seat so that a folding back or opening of the tilt adjusting fittings is prevented while at the same time mounting of the connecting elements without problematic rattling and axial jamming is made possible.
