  • Patent number: 6776661
Abstract: A planar filter has a monolithic construction in order to suppress parasitic capacitances between signal electrodes and many signal pins which are led through a carrier and which each have a capacitor with a signal layer connected to the signal pin, a ground layer connected to ground and a dielectric layer separating the two layers. The electrodes of the capacitors are applied to the carrier, which forms the dielectric, is shaped as a block from a mass of a higher dielectric constant and, after shaping and perforation, is sintered and ground. The ground electrode covers the entire surface area of one of the side surfaces of the carrier, apart from pin lead-throughs of the signal pins and their surrounding area. The signal electrodes on the other side surface of the carrier form insular regions extending from the pin lead-throughs of the signal pins to the edge of the carrier.

  • Patent number: 6506079
Abstract: A multi-pole angle-connecting device to be soldered onto a printed circuit board includes a planar filter, a continuous signal conductor assigned to each pole and having soldering ends on one side to be soldered to soldering points of the printed circuit board and ends on another side constructed as connector pins or plug-in sockets. In order to ensure that the angle-connecting device can be produced cost-effectively and can be soldered easily onto printed circuit boards, the filter is constructed as a filter plate which has openings through which the angular conductors are led and which rests on a metallic filter holder that is connected to ground and to a collar of the angle-connecting device. The filter holder has corresponding openings for leading through the soldering ends of the angular conductors, but with larger diameters. The planar filter is advantageously supported by a supporting carrier.

  • Patent number: 6478626
Abstract: A plug connector having a housing and an insulating body in the housing is described. Contact inserts are provided and correspond to the total number of lines passing through, each with a connecting sleeve, insert foot, insert body and with sockets/pins, and at least one line is electrically connected via a matching circuit to the housing. The matching circuit is accommodated by the plug connector housing and is connected to the signal conductors and the housing ground. For this purpose, the connector receptacles are in the form of roughly cylindrical apertures with circumferential inner rings which, facing the filter chamber, have an axial groove, with a window toward the filter chamber. Each of the inserted contact inserts has a matching ring interacting with the inner ring and has a device to ensure that the contact insert is seated without any play, and that contact is made with the matching circuit.

  • Patent number: 6437664
Abstract: A multiple filter for a plug connector has at least one capacitor with a signal electrode and a ground electrode connected to the associated signal and ground line, respectively, such that it can be produced using not only discrete components but also using thick-film or thin-film technology, and such that it can also be used in the frequency range above 10 GHz. A block of capacitor columns is provided, which are combined in the block or are provided free-standing on a block base. The block insulating material is formed by the capacitor dielectric with a dielectric constant of 103 to 104. Each capacitor column contains a capacitor which is formed by a signal conductor and a ground conductor. The signal electrode is formed either by the signal conductor itself or by layers connected thereto. The ground electrode is formed on the outer wall of the capacitor column and at least partially covers it.

  • Patent number: 5603640
Abstract: A plug connector has a conducting metal housing and a plurality of signal lines in the form of connection pins disposed in rows and columns. A planar filter assembly includes a planar filter having a ground electrode and two opposed edges constructed as conductive side regions being connected to the ground electrode and being connected to ground through the housing. A substrate has openings formed therein each receiving a respective one of the connection pins. Capacitors are each disposed in the vicinity of a respective one of the openings for a respective one of the connection pins. Each of the capacitors has a first coating being connected to a respective one of the connection pins and being extended into a respective one of the openings, a second coating connected through the housing to ground, and a layer-like dielectric disposed between the first and second coatings.

  • Patent number: 5459443
Abstract: A planar filter, in particular for multiple-pole plug connectors (plugs or counterpart plugs) disposed in a housing making a ground connection, for signal lines carrying electronic signals, includes a substrate and a number of closely spaced capacitors corresponding to the number of signal lines and being disposed on the substrate. The capacitors are formed of one common ground electrode being substantially continuous at least in the peripheral region of the substrate, individual signal electrodes each being provided for one of the signal lines and being insulated from the others, and a dielectric layer between them. The substrate has openings formed therein each for one of the signal lines. The signal electrodes each extend to or into one of the openings and are connected there to one of the signal lines. Each of the capacitors is formed of a series circuit of two substantially equal-size individual capacitors forming a capacitor pair.

  • Patent number: 5352995
Abstract: A multipolar plug connector assembly includes a plug connector and a plug for a given number of signal lines conducting digitized electronic signals. The plug connector has a housing in the form of a conductive shielding enclosure. At least the given number of contact springs with associated conductors is disposed in the housing. The plug connector cooperates with the plug for making contact and for lifting the contact springs from a position of rest into an operating position, when the plug connector and the plug are plugged together. A filter configuration, in the form of a low-pass filter or band pass filter, is disposed in the plug housing and has contact surfaces. The contact surfaces cooperate with the contact springs and are electrically connected with the conductors, when bringing the contact springs into the operating position by inserting the plug into the plug connector.
