Abstract: A polysulfone has sulfone units that are separated by alkylene units in a polymer chain or a copolymer chain where the alkylene units have at least four carbons between sulfone units. The alkylene units can include an ethenylene unit separated from the sulfone units by at least one methylene units. The polysulfones can be crosslinked for enhanced thermal stability. Membranes can be formed from the polysulfones.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus is provided. Abstract: Various examples are provided for point symmetric complementary meander line (PSC-ML) slots, which can be used for mutual coupling reduction. In one example, an antenna array includes first and second patch antenna elements disposed on a first side of a substrate, the first and second patch antenna elements separated by a gap. The antenna array can include point symmetric complementary meander line (PSC-ML) slots formed in a ground plane disposed on a second side of the substrate. The PSC-ML slots can include a pair of ML slots aligned with the gap between the first and second patch antenna elements. In another example, a method includes forming first and second antenna elements on a first side of a substrate and forming PSC-ML slots in a ground plane disposed on a second side of the substrate that are aligned with a gap between the first and second antenna elements.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for measuring mechanical properties of electrodes during electrochemical reactions. Such an apparatus includes a fixture having a fluid reservoir that is open to a surrounding atmosphere, first and second electrodes located within the fluid reservoir, and a contact for coupling with a sample material located in the fluid reservoir to define a third electrode. The apparatus further includes a nanoindenter configured for applying a load to a surface of the sample material to form an indentation therein and measuring the load and the size of the indentation over time, a housing enclosing the fixture and the nanoindenter within an inert atmosphere, and a potentiostat configured to charge and discharge an electrochemical cell that is defined by the first, second, and third electrodes and an electrolyte solution in the fluid reservoir while the nanoindenter is applying the load.

An electrical signal is produced between two of the at least two electrodes, due to a movement of the conductive fiber within a magnetic field, due to viscous drag of the moving air or fluid surrounding the conductive fiber. The microphone may have a noise floor of less than 69 dBA using an amplifier having an input noise of 10 nV/?Hz.

Abstract: Methods of embedding a heating circuit in an article fabricated by additive manufacturing. The methods describe techniques such as co-extruding a wire, capable of being heated, along with print material in additive manufacturing of the article, and placing a pre-shaped wire capable of being heated between adjacent layers of the article. A third method includes dispensing a wire, capable of being heated, during the additive manufacturing of the article, and compacting the wire into the printed material. An apparatus for embedding a heating circuit in an article fabricated by additive manufacturing. The apparatus contains a wire dispenser, a cutter to control the length of the wire dispensed, and a compactor capable of embedding the wire capable of being heated into the printed material. An article made by additive manufacturing is disclosed. The article contains at least one heating element embedded in the article during the additive manufacturing process.

Abstract: An integrated triad system to measure a patient's blood pressure at different body positions, to instruct the patient when to move from one position to the next to alleviate vascular hypertension based on an algorithm stored in the system calculating blood pressure changes and predictive risk, and to transmit the result to a remote medical location. Using the integrated triad system to perform the test over a period can increase test sensitivity by accommodating the variable onset of the disease.

Abstract: The present technology relates generally to oligolactic acid conjugates and stereocomplexes of conjugates of gemcitabine and gemcitabine derivatives, micelle compositions containing such conjugates or stereocomplexes of conjugates, and methods of preparing and using such compositions to treat various cancers. The oligolactic acid conjugates and stereocomplexes of conjugates may include oligolactic acid comprising 2 to 20 lactic acid subunits and may be attached through an amide linkage to the nitrogen of the 4(N) of the gemcitabine or gemcitabine derivative. Compositions comprising water and a micelle comprising a polylactic acid-containing polymer and the oligolactic acid conjugate or stereocomplex of conjugates may be readily prepared. Methods of inhibiting or killing cancer cells and treating gemcitabine sensitive cancers are also provided.
Abstract: A single-chain variable fragment (ScFv) derived from anti-c-Met monoclonal antibody MetMAb that specifically binds to c-Met receptor is provided. Also provided are chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) vectors including the ScFv, human T cells transduced with the disclosed CAR vectors, pharmaceutical compositions including the CAR T cells, ScFv fusion proteins, and methods of treating a c-Met-positive cancer or a cancer characterized by overexpression of c-Met in a subject in need thereof by administering an effective amount of the disclosed CAR T cells.

Abstract: Disclosed are materials and methods for treating diseases of the mammalian eye, and in particular, Usher syndrome 1B (USH1B). The invention provides AAV-based, dual-vector systems that facilitate the expression of full-length proteins whose coding sequences exceed that of the polynucleotide packaging capacity of an individual AAV vector.
