Abstract: A seat reclining device has a base plate secured to a seat cushion, an arm member secured to a seat back, upper and lower tooth plates pivotally mounted on a base plate and provided with upper and lower teeth, a cam member pivotally mounted on the base plate, and at least one support for the lower tooth plate. When the cam member moves the lower tooth plate in a direction to bring the lower teeth into contact with the upper teeth, the upper tooth plate is locked together with the arm member so that the seat back becomes unable to pivot relative to the seat cushion. In such a locked condition, the support supports the end portion of the lower tooth plate so as to maintain the engagement of the upper and lower teeth. Thus, the seat reclining device can lock the seat back with improved strength.
Abstract: A shift-lever device includes a position plate integrated with a base plate and formed with a detent groove, a shift lever supported to the base plate to be swingable along the position plate and including a base arranged adjacent to the position plate, and a compression rod arranged through the shift lever to axially be movable by operation of a knob button. A detent protrusion is arranged with the compression rod at a lower end to be engageable with the detent groove. A guide integrated with the base of the shift lever holds part of the detent protrusion longitudinally with respect to a vehicle body.
Abstract: A shift lever is composed of a lower lever section connected to a control rod of a transmission, and an upper lever section formed with a hollow cylindrical portion and provided with a shift lever knob. The lower lever section is formed with an elongate end portion which is being inserted in the hollow cylindrical portion of the upper lever section. Additionally, lower and upper elastomeric insulators spaced from each other are securely mounted on the elongate end portion of the lower lever section. The lower elastomeric insulator is securely connected to the upper lever section cylindrical portion, while the upper elastomeric insulator is adapted to form a clearance between it and the upper lever section cylindrical portion, thereby avoiding contact between the upper elastomeric insulator and the upper lever section cylindrical portion upon the shift lever being not operated.
