Patent number: 5181367Abstract: A method for inserting slide frames (17, 21) or film strips in the pockets (10) of a two-layer film jacket (2) which is open on one side (14). The pockets (10) are partitioned from each other by transverse seams (6), preferably transverse weld seams. One or several slide frames (17, 21) are successively inserted into a pocket (10), or a film strip is inserted into a pocket (10). The film jacket (2) is then transported in the longitudinal direction (12) of the film to the next pocket (10) to be filled. In order to simplify such a method, during the further transport of the film jacket (2) for the positioning of the next pocket (10) to be filled, the position of the next transverse seam (6) is detected by a feeler (1) which is moved in between the film layers (11, 13) at the open side (14) of the film jacket (2). The feeler (1) is movable in longitudinal direction in a direction (18) parallel to the transverse weld seams (6) and is provided with a wedge surface (19) at its end moving into the film (2).Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1991Date of Patent: January 26, 1993Assignee: Geimuplast Peter Mundt GmbH & Co. Patent number: 4685785Abstract: A integral plastic frame for holding a film slide includes a central window, a recessed bearing surface, which surrounds the window and serves to contact the film slide when it has been inserted to cover the window. The transparency as it is inserted and in its final position is guided between the bearing surface and the retaining elements facing the bearing surface. The retaining elements substantially consist of continuous retaining strips, which extend in the direction in which the film slide is inserted. The retaining strips are attached to mutually opposite sides of a central window of the integral frame member by means of narrow connecting webs, which extend at right angles to the direction in which the film slide is inserted. The plastic material of the frame member is so elastically flexible that an opening through which the film slide can be inserted is formed between the retaining strip and the bearing surface.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1985Date of Patent: August 11, 1987Assignee: Geimuplast Peter Mundt GmbH. & Co. Patent number: 4673815Abstract: A method of automatically detecting the locations of the frame lines of a reversal film as it is supplied to a processing station, such as a cutting and mounting station, a notching station or the like, so that the frame lines can be used as reference marks for the positioning of the film in the processing station wherein the film is moved past optoelectronic scanner in steps which amount to only a fractional part of the normal width of a frame line. The scanner generates an analog voltage which represents the accumulated light transmission of the film in a scanned area, which extends at right angles to the direction of travel of the film substantially across the picture area of the film and has a width which is only a fractional part of a normal width of a frame line. The extreme value of the voltage obtained during a scanning of at least one normal frame length and corresponding to the lowest light transmission is evaluated as a representation of the light transmission of the scanned film at a frame line.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 1985Date of Patent: June 16, 1987Assignee: Geimuplast Peter Mundt GmbH & Co. Patent number: 4603539Abstract: Methods are proposed for automatically framing slides in a framing apparatus, wherein the slides are subjected at a framing station at the leading end of the slide film passing through the framing apparatus to a framing cycle which comprises individual severing together with introduction in a ready-positioned frame and subsequent transmission of the framed slide to a storage box. One of the disclosed methods is conducted with the aid of marginal notches applied to the slide film by a preceding automatic notcher as a positional criterion for the slides and the other is conducted without regard to such notches. Both methods provide for scanning the spacer strips between slides by means of a scanning apparatus and special evaluation of the information thus obtained, possibly having regard to the notch spacing, in a manner such that a destruction of slides by wrong cuts is avoided.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 1983Date of Patent: August 5, 1986Assignee: Geimuplast Peter Mundt GmbH & Co.
