  • Patent number: 11489988
Abstract: A method for removing foreign substances from a camera system is provided. The camera system includes a camera device with a transparent cover having a piezoelectric component. First, a type of the foreign substances is identified based on temperature, an image captured by the camera system, and a voltage change of the piezoelectric component. A sequence of frequencies is applied to the piezoelectric component and a resonant frequency is acquired. Thereafter, the foreign substances are removed from the camera system. A vibration frequency and a vibration time period for the piezoelectric component are determined according to the identified type of the foreign substances. The vibration frequency is based on the resonant frequency. The piezoelectric component is driven with the vibration frequency and the vibration time period, such that at least a portion of the foreign substances are removed from the transparent cover through vibration of the piezoelectric component.

  • Patent number: 10200676
Abstract: The present invention discloses an image detection system of a vehicle for detecting at least one target object around a vehicle, and further detecting a distance between the at least one target object and the vehicle. The image detection system of the vehicle at least includes a light source unit, an image capturing unit and an alarm unit. The present invention primarily employs a laser beam incident onto the target object to form at least one optical pattern, and variation of the optical pattern and a motion object detection are collocated to effectively calculate the distance between the target object and the vehicle, thereby achieving an advantage of alarming and alerting a driver to safety of driving.

  • Patent number: 10194079
Abstract: A vehicle surveillance system is disclosed and includes a plurality of image capturing units, an image processing unit, and a display unit for monitoring a position of at least one target around a vehicle and measuring a distance between the at least one target and the vehicle. The vehicle surveillance system utilizes a space domain determination module, a time domain determination module, and a ground surface elimination module to transform original images of the target around the vehicle into the bird's-eye-view panorama, and further detects variation of an optical pattern incident onto the target through a light beam emitted by a light source so as to effectively remind a driver on the on-going vehicle of the position of the target and the distance, and real-time detect and capture an image of any person approaching the vehicle, thereby achieving driving safety and securing lives and personal properties.

  • Publication number: 20060284832
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for locating a laser spot on a screen. The system includes a projector, a laser pointer, a camera, a diffractive optical element, and a computer. The projector casts an image on the screen. The laser pointer casts the laser spot on the screen. The camera takes a picture corresponding to the image on the screen. The diffractive optical element is put between the screen and the camera in order to transform the laser spot into an easily observable diffractive pattern in the picture. The computer receives the picture from the camera and locates a semi-cursor on a display connected thereto based on the diffractive pattern in the picture.
