  • Patent number: 6284414
Abstract: The present invention relates to a microminiaturization technique to achieve the miniaturization and higher integration of IC chip and to the improvement of a mask used in its manufacturing process. In other words, the phases of lights transmitted through the mask is controlled within one mask pattern. Specifically, a transparent film is formed in such a manner that is covers a mask pattern along a pattern formed by magnifying or demagnifying the mask pattern or otherwise a groove is formed in a mask substrate. A phase difference of 180° is generated between the lights transmitted through the mask substrate and the transparent film or the groove, causing interference with each light to offset each other. Therefore, the pattern transferred onto a wafer has an improved resolution, being used in the invention.

  • Patent number: 6249325
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device has gate signal lines extending in the x-direction and arranged in the y-direction, and drain signal lines extending in the y-direction and arranged in the x-direction on the surface of the liquid crystal side of the one transparent substrate between a pair of transparent substrates opposed to each other via liquid crystals. A thin-film transistor is fumed on by a scanning signal from a gate signal line, and a pixel electrode will be supplied with a video signal from the drain signal line via the thin-film transistor that is fumed on in each of the regions surrounded by the signal lines. The thin-film transistor is of the MIS type, and the capacity between the gate electrode and the source electrode thereof is small on the input terminal side of the gate signal line and increases in a direction toward the end of the gate signal line, thereby to suppress the occurrence of flickering.

  • Patent number: 6023520
Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying a representative image corresponding to a shot of a duration within a specified range included in a plurality of shots of a moving image. The moving image includes a plurality of successive frames each having an image and each shot includes a plurality of the successive frames. In the invention a plurality of shot change points are sequentially detected from the moving image. The shot change points represent points between a pair of frames where images of a preceding shot and images of a succeeding shot have changed. Thereafter a detection is performed to determine whether a duration of a shot between a preceding shot change point and a succeeding shot change point is within the specified range. A representative image corresponding to the shot having a duration within the specified range is displayed along with duration time information representing the duration of the shot.

  • Patent number: 5854616
Abstract: An active matrix type liquid crystal display system having a plurality of switching elements to which scanning signals and image signals are applied via scanning electrodes and signal electrodes on one of a pair of the substrates and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, and an electrode structure for generating an electric field having a component substantially in parallel with one of the pair of the substrates. Scanning signals having at least two kinds of non-selective voltage values are applied to the scanning electrodes, whereby power consumption is reduced and image degradation of cross talk of the display system is prevented, in addition to obtaining extremely wide viewing-angle characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5107498
Abstract: A method successively test information processing devices, that include a main storage, a CPU, an external storage, etc., in a plurality of test steps in accordance with test programs along a test line composed of baths with different temperatures/humidities. A table and a pointer corresponding to the table are stored in an external storage and a non-volatile memory, respectively. A test program, test items and a test procedure are previously described for each test step in the table. The test object is shifted to a certain bath on the test line, and a prescribed test for the test object is performed at the timing of turning-on of the driving power therefor in accordance with the test procedure described in the procedure table corresponding to the pointer. The value of the pointer is updated each time the power is turned on.

  • Patent number: 4952058
Abstract: A system for detecting abnormal patterns in a surface pattern on the surface of a sample wherein, when the abnormal pattern has a portion smaller than the surface pattern, the light for illuminating the sample is stopped down to an opening so that the abnormal pattern can be distinguished over the surface pattern, the surface pattern is limited to a predetermined opening by the illumination light to form an image on a detector, and the surface pattern detected by the detector is processed to detect the abnormal pattern in the surface pattern. Further, the plurality of light rays having good directivity are illuminated onto a point on the surface of the sample from dissimilar directions maintaining a predetermined angle of incidence, the detect signals are separated to be corresponded to said light rays, and the above processing is carried out to enhance the precision of detection.
