Patent number: 7739672Abstract: Power consumption can be suppressed while maintaining an appropriate execution speed. The information processor has an interpreter for interpreting a source program or intermediate language program and a run-time translator for translating the program into a machine language program native to the computer. The information processor comprises a power-saving request monitor for monitoring whether or not there is a power-saving request from an input interface or a predetermined power-saving request in a given memory, and a power-saving translation controller. The power-saving request makes a request for suppression of the power consumed by the processor. The power-saving translation controller makes a decision as to whether the run-time translator executes run-time translation of the program according to whether there is the power-saving request. Based on the result of the decision, the translation controller instructs the run-time translator to execute the run-time translation.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2005Date of Patent: June 15, 2010Assignee: Hitachi Software Engineering, Co., Ltd.Inventors: Akira Ioku, Tatsuo Isobe, Yoshiaki Morimoto, Shinichiro Kawasaki

Patent number: 7732217Abstract: When detecting fluorescence of a bead chip array, reflected light from a bead is detected at the same time, so as to recognize the bead position. The reflected light can be detected in a similar manner for all beads, regardless of the presence or absence of a fluorescent substance. If the positions of all beads are detected, accurate detection can be achieved by quantifying only the fluorescence at the detected positions. The fluorescence wavelength alone is detected by a first detector using a wavelength selection filter. Other wavelengths are detected by a second detector, thereby obtaining the reflected light. Data on the reflected light is processed into an image for obtaining the bead profile, the bead position is recognized by detecting the center position based on the profile, and the fluorescence is quantified based on the bead position.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 2006Date of Patent: June 8, 2010Assignee: Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hiroshi Kishida, Masaomi Uchida

Publication number: 20100106712Abstract: Documents, which have typically been searched for using multiple search engines based on the access rights of multiple accounts on multiple authentication servers, are searched for using a single federated search engine via a single log in. A host system having an account correspondence database is provided with a function of re-indexing indexes that have been individually created with multiple search engines, so that indexes of all of the search engines are created in advance. When a search is requested, correspondence information is read from the account correspondence database, so that a document search involving the use of only the host system is executed based on all of the relevant account rights.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2009Publication date: April 29, 2010Applicant: HITACHI SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CO., LTD.Inventor: Kou MIZUTANI

Publication number: 20100106698Abstract: A method is provided that automatically saves data on a user terminal of a thin client system to a file server or to the user terminal by appropriately and efficiently sorting the data. System update data such as a patch for the user terminal and confidential data that should be saved to the server are distinguished when written to a secondary storage device, and separately cached into memory. Then, the confidential data that should be saved to the server is automatically uploaded to the file server at any given timing, for example, at shut-down of the terminal, whereby a minimum amount of data can be efficiently saved to the file server.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2009Publication date: April 29, 2010Applicant: HITACHI SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CO., LTD.Inventor: Koji NAKAYAMA

Patent number: 7698396Abstract: A method and system is described for detecting a physical device configuration inside a network node and displaying the configuration of a network in connection with a plurality of devices, in a network environment including SNMP-implemented intelligent network devices. ICMP echo requests are sent from an administrator terminal implementing an SNMP manager to individual network devices in the network node so that active devices are detected on the basis of responses therefrom. Then, transfer requests for information stored in the management information bases of the respective devices are sent to the SNMP agents in the individual devices detected, so that the types of the devices in the network node are detected based on the information stored in the management information bases returned.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2001Date of Patent: April 13, 2010Assignee: Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yoshimitsu Aoyagi, Hideki Fujioka

Publication number: 20100082530Abstract: A log management server enables an administrator to manage a log with a lighter load without compelling a client to bear any load in a log management processing. The log management server receives a log from a client 11 and stores the log in a log management database 13. Among pieces of log data A to C recorded in a common log and each formed by data specifying an event, the log management server detects a piece of log data A, B having contents on record identical to another piece of log data as redundant log data, removes the contents on record of the redundant log data other than a piece of log data representative of the redundant log data and stores the log manageably in the log management database.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2009Publication date: April 1, 2010Applicant: HITACHI SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CO., LTD.Inventor: Atsushi MIYAMOTO

Publication number: 20100070764Abstract: Erroneous deletion of data due to a collision of digest information during data de-duplication using digest information is prevented. When backup data is stored on a backup server 1100, digest information of the backup data is generated and stored in a digest information management table 4200. In addition, when a backup data storage request is made to the backup server 1100, a digest information verification control sub-program 1127 generates digest information of data to be backed up, and performs verification against the digest information of the backed up data already stored on the backup server 1100. If, by this verification, it is found that backed up data having the same digest information is already stored, de-duplication is realized by reusing the existing backed up data without newly storing the data to be backed up.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 21, 2009Publication date: March 18, 2010Applicant: HITACHI SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CO., LTD.Inventors: Yohsuke ISHII, Takaki NAKAMURA, Atsuya KUMAGAI, Kazuyoshi TOYAMA

Publication number: 20090241114Abstract: There is realized such a method for safely using and storing secret data that electronic copies of the secret data do not flow out of a particular external storage medium. In the present invention, a special format area which cannot be recognized from an ordinary PC is created in an external storage medium, and secret data is stored therein. By making a configuration in which a function of mounting the special format area is provided, and secret data in the special format area is edited and used on a work OS on which network access is inhibited and writing to a secondary storage device is inhibited, the destination of storing the secret data after it is used is limited to the special format area on the external storage medium so that outflow of the secret data from the external storage medium is prevented.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 29, 2008Publication date: September 24, 2009Applicant: Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yasuhiro Kirihata

Patent number: 7571264Abstract: Provided is a computer system which includes computers and a storage system coupled to the computers. The storage system includes a first load measuring module that measures a first access load for each channel adaptor. At least one of the computers includes a path management module that manages paths through which the computers access logical units. The path management module includes a second load measuring module that measures a second access load imposed by access from the computer to the logical unit, and an active path setting module that selects one of the channel adaptors based on the first access and the second access load measured by the first and second load measuring modules, and setting an active path passing through the channel adaptor. Thus, a load on an entire system is balanced, thereby improving performance while a cache hit rate of a storage system is maintained.Type: GrantFiled: July 26, 2005Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignees: Hitachi, Ltd., Hitachi Software Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Hirofumi Sahara, Hiroshi Morishima, Makoto Aoki, Osamu Kohama, Satoshi Kadoiri, Isao Nagase
