Abstract: Methods and compositions related to the use of Mobile Element Insertions and their adjacent genomic sequences. Methods using MEIs as markers for cellular proliferation, as targets for pharmaceuticals, as markers for tissue fingerprinting and in related methods and compositions are disclosed herein.
