  • Patent number: 5731845
Abstract: A two-dimensional contour enhancement is performed along a plurality of lines on a two-dimensional frequency characteristic chart, the line intersecting with each other at middle points between successive color cross generating regions and not passing through an origin. Then, the contour enhancement can be carried out in a frequency region of 3-4 MHz in which a visual effect of contour enhancement appears most effective, while the enhancement in the cross color generating regions can be suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5695043
Abstract: An apparatus for conveying objects includes a conveyor belt. A belt core material of the conveyor belt comprises rigid thread elements. Apertures for communicating the inner and outer surfaces of the belt core material are partly blocked by a plurality of annular seal strips each of which is continuous in a belt moving direction. The objects are seated over adjacent seal strips spaced apart from each other. The objects are conveyed while being drawn by a negative pressure, produced by a suction unit and introduced from the inner surface side of the conveyor belt through the apertures. During the conveyance, the objects are inspected. The objects supplied at optional intervals are stabilized with a constant suction force and conveyed. Thereafter, the objects are reliably turned over and transferred to another conveyor apparatus of the next stage.

  • Patent number: 5486948
Abstract: A stereo image forming apparatus for observing a stereo image based on two images obtained by two image taking systems. In front of each image taking system, such as a television camera, two wedge-shaped prisms are placed and made rotatable in mutually opposite directions, thus deflecting the direction of light for a varying distance to the object, in synchronization with the focusing operation of the image taking system. Thus, the apparatus can promptly focus on the object at varying distances without rotating the image taking systems themselves.

  • Patent number: 5436661
Abstract: A solid state image pick-up apparatus including an objective lens for forming an image of an object, and a color separation optical system for dividing said image of the object into four color images, e.g. first and second green images, a red image and a blue image, one of said four color images being right and left reversed, first to fourth solid state image sensors for receiving said four color images respectively to derive first and second green color signals, a red color signal and a blue color signal. Light receiving elements of said first solid state image sensor are shifted with respect to those of the second solid state image sensor by a half of a pitch at which these light receiving elements are arranged in a horizontal scanning direction to perform a so-called offset-site pick-up. The first and second green image signals are mixed with each other at an ideal ratio of 1:1 to derive a green color signal.

  • Patent number: 5406329
Abstract: A solid state image pickup apparatus includes a solid state image pickup device for receiving an optical image of an object and generating an electrical image signal representing the optical image of the object in synchronism with a driving pulse from a driving circuit. A sampling circuit generates a sampled image signal by sampling the electrical image signal read out of the solid state image pickup device with a first sampling pulse from a first pulse circuit synchronized with the driving pulse. An analog-to-digital convertor converts the sampled image signal to a digital image signal with a second sampling pulse from a second pulse circuit. A test signal generator generates a test signal which is synchronized with the driving pulse and alternately changes in level between consecutive pixels. A controller controls the phase of the first sampling pulse and the phase of the second sampling pulse relative to each other by processing the test signal.

  • Patent number: 5398038
Abstract: The field image signal for each of the color components of a frame color image signal is formed into a signal of odd number field groups and even number field groups of predetermined color sequence connected together in series, and with the color component sped up several times. The signal is scanned, with the signal of a specific color component deflected vertically by half the horizontal scanning spacing amount, the odd number fields and even number fields being deflected in opposite directions. As a result odd number and even number field images are displayed on the black and white display at respective established locations. At the same time, the light color changing means is driven with a signal corresponding to the color component signal, and the non color light signal displayed in black and white is changed into a light signal of a color component corresponding to the signal. As a result a high resolution color image is displayed without color aberration.

  • Patent number: 5335068
Abstract: A nonlinear processing apparatus in which a common input signal is input to multiple amplifiers having mutually different amplification factors and different offset voltages and a non-adder/mixer selectively outputs the output of each amplifier selected for each level region of the input signal, thereby providing a final nonlinear output. It is therefore possible to independently set and adjust the output characteristic for each amplifier (the frequency response and offset voltage in the case where this invention is applied to a gamma compensator), thereby ensuring highly-accurate setting and adjustment of the output characteristic over the entire output level range.

  • Patent number: 5247169
Abstract: An object to be inspected is, for example, a medical capsule having differently colored surface areas. A beam splitter divides light reflected by the surface of the object into two parts. Each of the divided parts of the light is passed through an optical filter whose transmission wavelength range is set according to the colors of the object, to adjust the quantity of transmitted light from a high-brightness part of the object surface and the quantity of transmitted light from a low-brightness part of the object surface to a reference level. Image pick-up elements pick up images of the object surface according to the divided parts of the light and provide image signals. One of the image signals is selected and provided outside. Unlike a prior art that adjusts levels of signals by amplifying the signals according to brightness of an inspected object, the method and apparatus of the invention do not involve amplification.

  • Patent number: 5227869
Abstract: A method for correcting the contour of an image, in which contour signals are independently extracted from image signals obtained in a plurality of channels; the thus extracted contour signals are mixed with each other at a fixed or variable mixing ratio to produce a contour correction signals; and the thus obtained contour correction signals are added to the image signals in the respective channels. Therefore, the noise included in the contour signals are averaged so as to be decreased; and thus it is possible to prevent the decrease the SN ratio of the image signals, which is caused by correcting the contour of the image. Further, since the contour signals are independently extracted in each channel, it is possible to independently correct the contour of the image in each channel.

  • Patent number: 5175621
Abstract: Non-linear outputs x.sup.A and x.sup.B for input signals x are calculated by referring to look-up tables, in which pairs of input and output signals with respect to gamma coefficients A and B different from each other are stored. These outputs x.sup.A and x.sup.B are multiplied by coefficients (1-k) and k, respectively, and the products are added to each other. Gamma correction outputs are approximately outputted from the result x.sup.A .times.(1-k)+x.sup.B .times.k. Any desired gamma characteristics can be obtained by varying the value of k in the range of 0 to 1. It is sufficient that the gamma characteristics data stored in the look-up tables (in advance) are only two kinds of data. A variety of gamma characteristics can be provided without increasing the memory capacities of the look-up tables.

  • Patent number: 5157481
Abstract: A registration correction circuit for a solid-state camera having a plurality of solid-state image pickup elements. One of the color video signals produced from the image pickup elements is selected as a reference signal, and pixel data of the color video signals other than the reference signal are electronically moved so that the pixel data of all the color video signals will agree in their positions. Movement of pixels is carried out by using coordinate transformation and interpolation technique: the coordinate transformation is used to shift the pixels by a multiple of 1-pixel pitch; and the interpolation is used to shift the pixels by less than 1-pixel pitch. The spatial frequency components reduced by the interpolation calculations are adaptively enhanced for each pixel in real time.
