  • Publication number: 20070012272
Abstract: The invention relates to a valve timing mechanism, in particular for four-cycle engines, having the following components: a rocker arm frame (2) which has two bars (34, 35) for accommodating rocker arms; hydraulic elements (6); a steel sheet part which is arranged between the hydraulic elements (6) and the rocker arm frame (2); a pressurized oil line; deep-drawn steel sheet rocker arms (1) which are configured uniformly, having a U-shaped cross section, a cylindrical roller, a cap (4) for a supporting ball (5) of the hydraulic element (6), and having contact elements for the valve stems of the inlet and outlet valves. • Patent number: 7159552
Abstract: The invention relates to a cup tappet for an internal combustion engine, having a skirt which has a radial recess, into which an anti-rotation element (6) is inserted. The anti-rotation element protrudes from the skirt in the radial direction, in order to be accommodated in a corresponding groove of the cylinder head as an anti-rotation safeguard. According to the invention, the anti-rotation element (6) has an outer contour in longitudinal section with a head (20) and a stem (21). The stem has a reduced dimension compared with the head (20) and a thickened portion (32), and can be clipped into the recess of the skirt of the cup tappet under elastic deformation of the thickened portion (32). In this way, an anti-rotation safeguard is possible which can be assembled particularly simply, can be manufactured cheaply and is reliable.

  • Patent number: 7152561
Abstract: A control structure for the adjusting motor of an electric camshaft adjuster in an internal combustion engine is provided. The control structure includes a controller which processes measuring signals of the internal combustion engine to control data for the adjusting motor. • Patent number: 7146951
Abstract: A switchable cam follower, comprising two relatively movable, e.g., telescopable, units which can be connected via a coupling which engages over a dividing face between the units such that there is a large valve stroke. It is possible to generate no valve stroke or a small valve stroke if the coupling does not engage. At least one spring, which can be loaded compressively or torsionally, acts as a lost motion spring between the units. A compression limiting device impedes movement of the lost motion spring to the blocked position. In an incorrect switching operation in which the coupled units move undesirably toward each other and in a sudden manner under the influence of a valve spring force, movement of the spring into the “blocked” position to become seated is prevented by the limiting device.
