  • Patent number: 6113168
Abstract: A lightweight, compact implement for digging snow, comprising a substantially flat sheet of flexible, resilient material having a front face, a back face, a top edge, a bottom edge, a right edge, and a left edge, and handles situated near the right edge and the left edge thereof, whereby a user grasping the sheet by the handles may selectively deform the sheet into a shovel head shape and use it to cut and transport volumes of snow using the top edge or bottom edge. The handles may comprise oblong hand holes formed near the right and left edges of the sheet, or may comprise handles or straps affixed near the edges. The top edge is short and rounded so as to facilitate digging of hard or packed snow, while the bottom edge is longer and less rounded to allow digging of comparatively larger volumes of light or soft snow.
