Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for network discovery. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit, to a first access point (AP), via a Primary Connectivity Radio (PCR), a request indicating that on a condition that the WTRU is disassociated from the first AP, the WTRU will enter a wake-up radio (WUR) only discovery mode. The WTRU may receive, from the first AP, via the PCR, a management frame that has WUR discovery elements including an indication of at least one channel used by a second AP. The WTRU may perform disassociation from the first AP. The WTRU may activate a WUR and deactivate the PCR. On a condition that the WTRU is disassociated from the first AP, the WTRU may receive, from the second AP, via the WUR, a WUR frame over the at least one channel to enable the WTRU to activate the PCR to initiate association.

  • Publication number: 20200396043
Abstract: A method performed by a STA may comprise transmitting a first negotiation message to an AP and receiving a second negotiation message from the AP. The first negotiation message and the second negotiation message may negotiate a block acknowledgement agreement between the STA and the AP. The method may further comprise receiving a data unit, from the AP, the data unit having a duration field indicating a duration of a block-ACK frame. The duration of the block-ACK frame may be determined based on the negotiated block ACK agreement. A block-ACK frame may be transmitted within the duration indicated by the duration field.

  • Patent number: 10869278
Abstract: A method and apparatus for power control for wireless transmissions are disclosed. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may determine a first transmit power for a first physical channel for a first serving cell in a first timing advanced group (TAG) and a second transmit power for a second physical channel for a second serving cell in a second TAG. The first TAG may be associated with a first timing advance value and the second TAG may be associated with a second timing advance value. The WTRU may determine a WTRU configured maximum output power (PC MAX) for an overlapping portion, which may be a portion of a transmission of the first channel in a first slot that overlaps in time with a portion of a transmission of the second channel in a next slot. The WTRU may adjust at least one of the first physical channel and the second physical channel.

  • Publication number: 20200389827
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for redirecting a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) to a dedicated core network (CN) node are described. An apparatus is configured to initiate a Service Request with a non-dedicated network node. The apparatus is configured to receive a special identifier in response to the Service Request, which indicates the apparatus should be redirected to a dedicated CN node based on subscription information. Radio access network resources associated with the apparatus may be released and the apparatus may then perform a tracking area update (TAU) request which is then forwarded to the dedicated CN node.

  • Patent number: 10856221
Abstract: A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is configured to receive at least three sets of parameters associated with power saving. A first set of the parameters is associated with an idle state. A second set of the parameters is associated with a connected state. A third set of the parameters is associated with not being in a connected state and remains registered with a network and maintains a packet data network (PDN) connection. The WTRU is configured to enter active times based on the third set of parameters on a condition that the WTRU is not in the connected state and remains registered with the network. During the active times, the WTRU is configured to monitor physical downlink control channels (PDCCHs) for paging messages.

Abstract: Techniques for efficient downlink control with a large number of carriers and/or TTIs are described. Techniques for blind decoding reduction may include making the search space and/or aggregation level of candidates for a first PDCCH/E-PDCCH associated with the characteristics of a second received PDCCH/E-PDCCH. Techniques may include embedding DCI for a set of serving cells and/or TTIs in a PDSCH. DCI for a set of serving cells and/or TTIs may be included in single PDCCH/E-PDCCH. To reduce overhead, carrier indicator field interpretation may be associated with the serving cell or TTI from which the PDCCH/E-PDCCH containing the downlink control information is received, or the group of cells or TTIs to which the PDCCH/E-PDCCH containing the downlink control information belongs.

  • Patent number: 10826586
Abstract: A station (STA) may receive a wireless signal including a preamble of a packet. An energy level of the signal received may exceed a clear channel assessment (CCA) threshold. The STA may determine, using a carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) protocol, to ignore a payload portion of the packet based on information contained in the preamble and adjust the CCA threshold to account for the payload portion of the packet. The STA may then access a wireless medium using the CSMA protocol during the payload portion of the packet using the adjusted CCA threshold. In an example, the STA may receive the preamble of the packet via a beamformed signal. In another example, the STA may receive the preamble of the packet via an omni-directional signal. In a further example, the CCA threshold may be a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) level.

  • Publication number: 20200344695
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described herein for rediscovery and medium access for wake-up radios. For example, a wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may receive, via a first transceiver, a frame that includes a wake-up radio (WUR) operation element having a first counter value. The WTRU may deactivate the first transceiver and activate a second transceiver, wherein the first transceiver enters into a doze state and the second transceiver is in an awake state. The WTRU may then receive, via the second transceiver in the awake state, a WUR frame that includes a second counter value indicating an update of a plurality of basic sewer set (BSS) parameters associated with the first transceiver. On a condition that the second counter value is different than the first counter value, the WTRU may activate the first transceiver to update the plurality of BSS parameters, wherein the first transceiver enters into an awake state.

  • Publication number: 20200328855
Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus are provided for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may receive, in a first subframe, downlink control information (DCI) including a grant for a physical downlink shared control channel (PDSCH) and an indication of physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources. Further, the WTRU may receive, in the first subframe, data on the PDSCH based on the grant. Also, the WTRU may generate first acknowledgement (ACK)/negative ACK (NACK) information based on the data received on the PDSCH. Accordingly, the WTRU may transmit, in the first subframe, the first ACK/NACK information in a PUCCH transmission. In an example, the first ACK/NACK information may be transmitted in a time slot in the first subframe different from a time slot in the first subframe in which the DCI is received.
