  • Patent number: 6261417
Abstract: A strainer with a screen at its outer periphery is rotatably supported on a casing. A hollow pipe with paddles on an outer periphery of the pipe is fitted in the strainer. The hollow pipe is rotated at a rotating velocity different from that of the strainer. Slurry introduced into the hollow pipe is discharged through slurry outlets on the hollow pipe into inside of the strainer. Then, the slurry is hydrated by the screen under centrifugal action and is moved by the paddles toward a slurry outlet.

  • Patent number: 6171448
Abstract: A casing has a pulp slurry inlet, a reject outlet and an accept stock outlet and accommodates a rotor. The rotor has a hollow cylinder with scraper blades at its outer periphery. A screen plate is disposed outside of the scraper blades to provide between them a passage facing to the screen plate. The hollow cylinder is formed with pulp slurry outlets. Rotation of the hollow cylinder causes the pulp slurry to be circulated outside and inside of the hollow cylinder, so that separation of the pulp slurry into accept stock and reject is repeatedly carried out by the screen plate.

  • Patent number: 6029911
Abstract: Provided are an air passage (17) extending from one end surface of a body (16) toward the other end of the body, a throat (18) extending from a downstream end of the air passage (17) toward the other end of the body, an elongated mixed gas passage (19) extending from a downstream end of the throat (18) to the other end of the body (16), an ozone passage (20) extending from an outer lateral surface of the body (16) toward a portion near an upstream end of the mixed gas passage (19), an ozone injection port (21) communicating from a downstream end of the ozone passage (20) to the portion near the upstream end of the mixed gas passage (19). A ratio of the cross-sectional area of the mixed gas passage (19) to that of the throat (18) is set to about 2. Thus, the air-ozone mixed flow is discharged out of the mixed gas passage (19) without substantially reducing the pressure of the mixed flow to ensure spraying pressure for atomizer nozzles.

  • Patent number: 5958308
Abstract: Hot water is sprayed to fillers arranged immediately under a hot water vessel through spray ports opened on a lower surface of the hot water vessel. The hot water flowing down along the fillers is cooled through direct contact with ambient air. The cooling tower includes fillers partitioned alternately into permanent wet and wet-dry changeover regions which are mutually isolated for flow passages of the ambient air and spray pipes provided on the lower surface of the hot water vessel exclusively for the wet-dry changeover regions such that the hot water can be sprayed to the wet-dry changeover regions separately from the permanent wet regions. The hot water vessel is supported by the spray pipes. The spray ports of the hot water vessel is communicated only with the permanent wet regions.

  • Patent number: 5887725
Abstract: A raw material is dispersed around a rotating separator main body having a plurality of classifying blades annularly arranged on the main body and is exposed on a rising flow of classifying air so as to sift off crude powder which cannot be entrained on the flow of the classifying air. The remaining raw material entrained on the classifying air is peripherally introduced into the separator main body for classification into fine and crude powders, the fine power being the powder which is allowed to pass through the classifying blades while the crude powder is the powder which is not allowed to pass. A dispersion plate is arranged between the separator main body and a raw material inlet above the separator main body to receive and disperse the raw material from the inlet. The dispersion plate is rotatable at number of revolutions different from that of the separator main body.

  • Patent number: 5851441
Abstract: Supply water temperature in a cooling tower is detected by a temperature detector, and based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector, a flow control valve in a hydraulic pressure supply line is controlled. As a result, operation of a hydraulic motor connected to a cooling fan can be controlled to efficiently cool down the water temperature to reach a preset temperature. Further, by a pressure-compensated variable displacement regulator of a variable displacement pump, the flow control valve is controlled to have irreducibly minimum pressure difference such that pressure on upstream side is slightly higher than the pressure on downstream side. Therefore, discharge pressure of the variable displacement pump can be suppressed to the irreducibly minimum value, and capacity of the variable displacement pump can be controlled to match the opening degree of the flow control valve.

  • Patent number: 5798025
Abstract: Separation and discharge of contaminants and defibration of undefibered waste paper can be effected in a single apparatus which has a generally cylindrical casing, a rotor concentrically arranged in the casing and a cylindrical main screen plate concentrically surrounding the rotor. Stock is separated by the main screen plate into that passing from inside through the main screen plate to outside and that not passing through it. The stock passing through the main screen plate is sent as accept stock to a next process. The stock not passing through the main screen plate is passed through a gap of a defibering section provided by defibration stator and rotor for defibration of undefibered waste paper and is further separated into the stock passing through an auxiliary screen plate and that not passing through it. The stock passing through the auxiliary screen plate is sent back through a circulation pathway in the rotor to inside of the main screen plate.

  • Patent number: 5597075
Abstract: Waste paper stock pulp slurry supplied through a stock inlet is separated at screening sections to a high quality stock rejected stock containing contaminants and undefibered waste paper. The high quality stock is sent to a next stage as accepted stock. The rejected stock is sent to a defibering section and is diluted after defibration, part of the rejected stock; being circulated to the screening sections, the remainder being discharged out of the system through a rejection outlet. The provision of screening and defibering sections in one and the same screen can satisfy contradictory requirements, i.e., to increase contaminant removing efficiency, to raise production yield and to attain space and cost savings.
