Abstract: A ball and socket joint cap having a plurality of elastic latching elements for accepting a ball therein, each of said elastic latching elements being locked in installed position by a rigid member positioned behind the latching element and each locking member being simultaneously activated by a common operator so that the latching elements are all simultaneously locked for retention of the ball. The cap has secondary means for attachment to a rod and/or for mounting it in an apertured panel.

Abstract: An automatic tool for rapidly setting rivets or like fasteners of the expansion type supplied in strip form. It comprises a magazine for receiving a strip of rivets in which the rivets can advance stepwise so that the leading rivet faces the outlet orifice. A breech movable longitudinally along the axis of the outlet orifice and provided with a barrel fitting over the rivet mandrel and over the rivet head so that the rivet is fetched into a setting position, well clear of the magazine, in order to enable same to be set visually. A striker sliding along the axis of the breech is provided with a pin which strikes the mandrel of the rivet through the barrel and drives it into the body of the rivet and causes the rivet to be secured in the assembly holes. A double-acting detent and trigger actuating mechanism is so devised that an initial phase of operation of the detent causes the breech to advance while a second phase of operation of the detent causes the striker to act.

Abstract: A mechanical assembly for rotating an axle comprises means for actuating said axle and means for fixing said actuating means together in which the axle comprises an end adapted to receive said actuating means. On this end, are at least one flat and at least one groove extending over a circular arc situated at right angles with respect to the flat. The actuating means is constituted by a knob or crankhead including a central recess adapted to receive said axle end and at least two flexible parts mounted in the recess and arranged at right angles to one another. One of these parts is adapted to bear on said flat and the other provided with a pin adapted to be engaged in said groove. The fixing means is constituted by a ring adapted to encircle and grip the two parts of the actuating means respectively against and in the flat and the groove of the axle end. The ring comprises means adapted to render it itself fast to the actuating means.
