Patent number: 9701830Abstract: Improved emulsion breakers in the form of polyol acrylate polymers in water/oil emulsions have relatively high polymer contents and low inversion viscosities. The emulsion breakers can be prepared by mixing together acrylate monomer, polyol, water, liquid petroleum product, and emulsifier, followed by homogenization of the mixture; the latter is then subjected to free radical polymerization to polymerize the polyol and monomer in situ within the mixture.Type: GrantFiled: December 17, 2015Date of Patent: July 11, 2017Assignee: Jacam Chemical Company 2013, LLCInventors: David Jay Rose, Thomas Joseph Fortune, Thomas W. Patent number: 9249651Abstract: Improved methods are provided for the application of downhole oil or gas well treating agents, such as liquid corrosion inhibition agents. The methods involve first lowering a liquid retainer device into a well casing, preferably at or above the location of the well production zone, followed by introduction of a liquid treating agent. The presence of the liquid retainer device prevents substantial passage of the agent into the production zone, and forms a column of the liquid agent above the device. The retainer device is then withdrawn from the well so as to create a substantially uniform film of the agent along the inner surfaces of the well casing. In this manner, proper coating of the casing is achieved while preventing production losses owing to passage of the treating agent into the production zone. The liquid retainer is preferably one or more swab cups or oil field retainers.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2013Date of Patent: February 2, 2016Assignee: Jacam Chemical Company 2013, LLCInventors: James C. Baker, Harlan G. McCormack, Gene F. Brock, Gene H. Zaid

Patent number: 9234414Abstract: Apparatus (10) permits injection of solid well treatment pellets into a producing well (25) having a positive well pressure. The apparatus (10) includes a water storage tank (12) connected to the input of a high pressure pump (14). The pump (14) generates a pressurized flow of water at a pressure greater than well pressure through a conduit (24) and/or through a container (30) holding the pellets to be injected. The pellets are entrained within the pressurized flow of water for well injection.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2014Date of Patent: January 12, 2016Assignee: Jacam Chemical Company 2013, LLCInventors: Gene H. Zaid, Byron G. Owen, Ivan Clark Barr

Publication number: 20140272423Abstract: Improved anti-corrosion systems are provided for use with hydrocarbon recovery, treatment and distribution equipment, in order to inhibit corrosion on the metal surfaces thereof. The systems include an epoxy resin, a curing agent for the resin, and a surfactant, which is the reaction product of an alkyl benzene sulfonic acid at least partially neutralized of from about 6-11 with an ammonia or amine neutralizing agent. The systems provide improved anti-corrosion protection in the case of metal surfaces not continually wetted with liquid hydrocarbons, such as crude oil.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2013Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: Jacam Chemical Company 2013, LLCInventors: Gene H.
