Abstract: Device and method for the mutual positioning of shell parts. Such shell parts can be used for constructing a large cylinder, for example a silo. The shell parts are provided with end flanges which extend at right angles thereto. Once the shell parts have been brought into the correct position, the end flanges are connected to one another in any suitable way. It is proposed to position the shell parts and/or end flanges with respect to one another in the desired position by arranging supporting rollers on the side where there are no end flanges. On the other side, clamping rollers are used which are at an angle to one another. A combination of in each case a supporting roller and a clamping roller provides both the correct mutual positioning of the shell parts with respect to one another and the pressing against one another of the shell parts.

  • Patent number: 6783032
Abstract: Inside a steel container (1, 17, 23), a bin (3) of corrosion-resistant material is fitted. This bin (3) is fastened to the container walls. The side walls and the top wall of the bin are substantially identical in shape to those of the steel container. The container is intended for the transport of bulk goods, especially plastics particle material, the contamination of this material by steel particles, which have come loose as a result of corrosion, being prevented.

  • Patent number: 6715243
Abstract: To produce a silo or tank, plates provided with joining flanges are made, both plates and flanges being produced from aluminium alloy. The plates are joined to one another in order to form rings, and said rings are joined to one another in order to form a silo or tank. In order to make the said joins between the shaped plates and between the rings watertight, according to the present invention sealing mastic is applied in a channel formed by two adjoining recesses, each made in the outward-facing free end of one of two flanges engaging on one another.

  • Patent number: 4656793
Abstract: In order to enable accurate regulation of the automatic opening of explosion cover plates at predetermined differences in pressure the cover plate is not only retained in a rubber-elastic sealing clamping section but additionally is supported by at least one counter-support, e.g. as shown in FIG. 2, constituted by a lever arm which will be swung from its supporting position when the limit load is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 4602465
Abstract: Substantially cylindrical and relatively thin-walled large volume containers such as silos are interiorly supported by means of a supporting structure in the form of a triangular supporting triangle, which is fixedly joined to the inner container wall. Thereby an essential amount of radial loads is converted into loads working in circumferential direction, i.e., working tangentially on the container wall, so that the risk of deformations is reduced when the load transmitting members such as pipes provided inside the container are joined to the supporting structure.

  • Patent number: 4561222
Abstract: A large container, especially a silo, having a unitary, or one-piece material holding main part. A generally conically shaped unloading hopper is secured to the base of the main part by means of relatively thick, solid flange means which provides exceptional load-bearing properties at critical areas at the juncture of the main part to the unloading hopper. The container can be stacked in nested relation with other containers thereby making storage and shipment of the container more economical.
