Patents Assigned to Japan Powder Metallurgy Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 6183667
Abstract: A composite material having a carbon matrix, and a titanium-copper alloy dispersed in the carbon matrix and containing 1-80% by weight of titanium and 15.4-99% by weight of copper. The titanium-copper alloy is present in an amount of 2-85% based on a total weight of the carbon matrix and the titanium-copper alloy. The composite material may additionally contain carbon fibers dispersed in the carbon matrix. The composite material is produced by incorporating powder or melt of titanium and copper or copper alloy into a shaped body of carbon.

  • Patent number: 5964334
Abstract: A wet type friction contact device comprises a non-driving member; a driving member which drives to the non-driving member; and fluid which is intervened between the non-driving member and driving member; wherein the coefficient of dynamic friction of the contact area between the non-driving member and the driving member is not less than 0.2. Therefore, the present invention provides a wet type friction contact device which secures a large amount of torque capacity compared with that of the conventional wet type contact device without bringing about large-size unit thereof and also without requiring disassembly and exchange thereof.

  • Patent number: 5808214
Abstract: Since a powder-produced material comprises cerium fluoride, it can exhibit good wear-resistance. The cerium fluoride content may be set in the range of from 0.1 to 22% by weight, in particular, in the range of from 0.1 to 10.0% by weight, based on the total weight of the powder-produced material. The powder-produced material may comprise a ferrous matrix including hard particles, and the ferrous matrix includes cerium fluoride.

  • Patent number: 5762400
Abstract: A seat reclining mechanism is provided in which engagement of a first engaging portion and a second engaging portion is performed in the vicinity of the center of a pawl in its width direction, without providing a member protruding in the thickness direction of the pawl and without reducing the strength of the pawl. The first engaging portion is an engaging groove which opens toward a side surface of the pawl and extends in a direction intersecting the sliding direction of the pawl at one flat surface side in the thickness direction of the pawl.

  • Patent number: 5679909
Abstract: Disclosed are a sintered material having good machinability and process for producing the same. In the material, a composite oxide of CaO--MgO--SiO.sub.2 family are dispersed in Fe-dominant metal matrix. Wherein the composite oxide has the molar ratio of CaO/MgO from 0.05 to 2.0 wt. %, and also has the content of SiO.sub.2 from 50 to 75 wt. %. Hard particles of FeMo or such can be dispersed in the metal matrix. The maximum content of composite oxides in the sintered material are suggested to be 1.5 wt. % with the consideration of the mechanical strength. The sintered material can be cut with less tool wear and is produced by the process with low cost.

  • Patent number: 5344118
Abstract: A solenoid valve used in a brake fluid circuit of an anti-lock braking system of an automotive vehicle. The solenoid valve comprises a plunger which is axially movable upon energizing and de-energizing of an armature core located inside a solenoid coil. The plunger is formed of a sintered metal and formed at its tip end with a fitting groove. A spherical metal valve member is fixedly fitted in the fitting groove by caulking an outer peripheral wall surrounding the fitting groove. The valve member is brought into contact with a valve seat member formed with an oil passage through which oil is flowable, upon movement of the plunger toward the valve seat member.
