Patents Assigned to John Blue Company Division of Subscription Television, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4141676
Abstract: A method and apparatus are shown for use in mixing agricultural chemicals for placement through an applicator onto the soil. A fumigant is added to anhydrous ammonia in measured amounts as the ammonia is being injected in the field from the applicator under pressure. The liquid fumigant, which is quite corrosive to some of the aluminum valves and fittings ordinarily used with anhydrous ammonia, is pumped under pressure to be mixed with the ammonia downstream from the aluminum valves and fittings that might be damaged thereby and upstream from the applicator so that a solution or homogeneous mixture of the anhydrous ammonia and fumigant can be delivered to the ground without damage to any equipment because of the corrosive characteristic of the fumigant.

  • Patent number: 4100610
Abstract: A storage tank for liquid suspensions is shown, requiring sparging or agitation to prevent settling or salting out of somewhat insoluble suspended solids wherein the agitation is provided by movable high energy jets produced by nozzles that direct streams of compressed gas toward and under the precipitated agglomerations of solid particles. The apparatus includes means for distributing the energy of the compressed gas evenly over the surface area upon which the precipitate is deposited whereby to apply the needed agitation to all areas covered by deposits. The invention includes structural aspects for mounting the sparging apparatus on the top of the tank and suspending the moving agitators to extend downwardly into the tank to a position over the floor of the tank upon which the salting out takes place.

  • Patent number: 3961572
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for temporarily storing cotton after harvesting by forming the cotton into modules. The apparatus includes a box frame which is open at the top and bottom and has a door at one end thereof. The apparatus includes a carriage which is mounted for movement longitudinally along the top of the frame. A tramper footing is mounted for vertical movement with respect to the carriage, which tramper compresses the cotton within the frame to form the cotton module. The tramper is powered by means of a hydraulic piston and cylinder arrangement wherein the piston and cylinder arrangement can be retracted into the frame when the frame is transported from one place to another. A hydraulic system is provided for controlling both the displacement and the rate of displacement of the tramper during the cotton compacting process.
