  • Patent number: 6815616
Abstract: A twist-on wire connector having a housing with a spiral tread for engaging and holding electrical wires in an electrical connection and a chamber for carrying a member having a wire passageway so that the electrical wires can be retained within the connector by conforming the member about the wires to inhibit strain therein and a method of making an electrical connection that inhibits strain of the wire by inserting a plurality of wires into a spiral thread of a twist-on wire connector, rotating the plurality of wires to bring the electrical wires into electrical connection with each other and squeezing a member around the plurality of wires to bring the member into pressure contact along a portion of the plurality of wires to thereby inhibit strain on the plurality of wires held in the electrical connector.

  • Patent number: 6601605
Abstract: An end-cap lockingly securable to the end of the pipe at the same time a secondary action such as a branch line is formed to the main pipe line. The end cap housing has an integral branch forming member to allow a user to lock the end cap to the pipe by forming a branch line on the side of the pipe with the end cap housing sandwiching the end of a pipe between a pipe insert and a pipe receptor in the end cap housing. The pipe receptor includes an insert having a sealing surface, which when engaged to the interior surface of a pipe, forms a leak-proof relationship with the pipe.

  • Patent number: 5771578
Abstract: A system and method for automatically assembling capped, sealant containing, twist-on wire connectors with the system interruptible if the components are not available for assembly, but allowing for the carrying of faultily assembled components through the assembly process without further assembly thereon, so that the improperly assembled components can be delivered to the proper recycling bin to assure that only the properly assembled capped, sealant containing, twist-on wire connectors are sent to packaging for shipment to a customer.

  • Patent number: 5151239
Abstract: A solderless twist on wire connector and a method of making a solderless twist on wire junction encapsulating twist on wire connector by securing a prior art twist on wire connector in a shell to produce a wire junction encapsulating twist on wire connector that can in one operation permit the user to twist the connector to simultaneously compress the junction ends of electrical wires into low resistance electrical contact while encapsulating the junction ends of the electrical wires in a solderless substance. The process includes the method making a twist on wire connector by encapsulating a prior art twist on wire connector in a shell to produce a wire junction encapsulating twist on wire connector having a chamber for an encapsulating material. In one embodiment the twist on wire junction encapsulating twist on wire connector includes a puncturable seal and in another embodiment a second compartment for holding a mixable encapsulating materials.

  • Patent number: 5113037
Abstract: A waterproof and fire retardant connector having a rotatable wire connector with an end cap attached thereto with the wire connector filled with a sealant to permit the user to simultaneously compress the junction ends of electrical wires into low resistance electrical contact while forming a waterproof covering and spark inhibiting compound surrounding the twisted junction end of the wires. The process includes inserting the junction ends of electrical leads into a wire connector, which is filled with a waterproof and fire retardant sealant, and then either crimping or rotating the wire connector to simultaneously form an electrical connection and waterproof and spark inhibiting seal around the twisted junction ends of the wires.

  • Patent number: 5023402
Abstract: A waterproof connector having a rotatably wire connector with a housing attached thereto with the wire connector and the housing filed with a sealant to permit the user to simultaneously compress the junctions ends of electrical wires into low resistance electrical contact while forming a waterproof covering surrounding the twisted junction end of the wires. The process includes inserting the junction ends of electrical leads into a rotatable wire connector connected to a sleeve, which is filled with a waterproof sealant, and then rotating the wire connector while preventing the sleeve and the electrical leads from rotating.
