  • Patent number: 5700144
Abstract: During thermal treatment in a melting cyclone of solids that yield molten products at treatment temperatures, an exhaust gas is separated from the melt in an apparatus following the melting cyclone. The separation of the exhaust gas is implemented in a cyclone-like separating chamber that is fashioned such that a thermal after-treatment of the melt and/or of the exhaust gas can ensue therein in addition to the separation of the exhaust gas.

  • Patent number: 5683043
Abstract: An oscillating screen (13) is positioned between a grate system (11) of a grate cooler and a crusher (16) to separate the fines from the material discharged by the grate cooler prior to feeding the remaining clinkers to the crusher (16). • Patent number: 5647320
Abstract: A method and device for assembling and setting the injection pump elements in which the control rod is pressed against an elastically compliant stop in the form of a pin, which engages one end of a longitudinal groove of the control rod. In this position of the control rod, the injection pump elements have an adjusting pin inserted into a recess of the control rod, which adjusting pin is connected by a control arm to the plunger of the injection pump element, and the injection pump element is rotated so that the control arm lies against a stop of the injection pump element. The injection pump element is then bolted in place in this position.By this method and device the control rod, during assembly, is intentionally set a short distance further than it is possible to move it in normal operation by the controller.

  • Patent number: 5601520
Abstract: In order to create a wear-resistant hard-surfacing for the rolls of high-pressure roll presses for the compressive size reduction of granular material, which is suitable for autogenous wear protection and which is simple from the fabrication standpoint and also exhibits a long potential surface life with minimized danger of cracking, even under the action of high pressing compressive loads, it is proposed in accordance with the invention that a multitude of profiles, such as, in particular, nub pins (17), arranged at intervals from one another, be welded onto the roll surface by mold welding, specifically with the assistance of a mold (11) laid on the roll body (10), which mold is provided with radial through openings (12, 13, 14), which are filled with surface weld metal, after which, after solidification of the weld metal, the preferably water-cooled mold (11) is lifted off the roll (10).

  • Patent number: 5575252
Abstract: This invention relates to a reciprocating internal combustion engine having a cylinder crankcase in which a crankshaft is rotatably supported, to which crankshaft there is flexibly joined at least one connecting rod having a piston guided in a cylinder liner, the crankcase having fittings of an oil circulation system and various attached parts in a number independent of the number of cylinders. The crankcases with various numbers of cylinders can be cast, machined and assembled at the lowest possible cost because groups of fittings and attached parts have spacings to one of the two ends of the various cylinder crankcases (1) that remain constant.

  • Patent number: 5551382
Abstract: This invention relates to a reciprocating internal combustion engine having a cylinder crankcase with a cylinder head with is designed to reduce the manufacturing and spare parts cost. A single design unified cylinder head is employed for liquid cooling and air cooling, the cylinder head having both cooling spaces for the liquid coolant and cooling fins for the cooling air. Coolant passageways in the cylinder head are connected to coolant spaces in the cylinder block portion of the cylinder crankcase by way of openings in the upper end of the cylinder block and openings in the cylinder head gasket which permit flow of coolant to the annuli in the cylinder head. In addition to the annuli, the coolant passageways in the cylinder head include a longitudinally extending header, horizontally extending web ducts extending radially inward from the annuli and vertically extending connecting conduits inclined relative to the cylinder axes interconnecting the web ducts and the header.

  • Patent number: 5505389
Abstract: A recirculating grinding plant with a crushing high-pressure roller press and sifter which has low energy consumption and which operates without a separate drive disagglomerator for disagglomerating the roll press scabs. The raw material together with the scabs of the roller press are delivered directly to the delivery chute (15) of the disagglomerator/sifter, which is a static cascade sifter (16) enclosed by a column-like sifter housing and having two sift-zone barriers. The barriers form a sifting zone therebetween and sifter air flows through them in a cross-current fashion. The barriers include cascade-like or shutter-like deflectors (16a, 16b) pointing towards the bottom in direction of the discharge opening (19) for the sifted coarse material fragments (20). The two deflectors (16a, 16b) and the sifting zone (17) located therebetween are arranged oblique to the vertical.

  • Patent number: 5474515
Abstract: When a screw-conveyor centrifuge is turned off and its rotation speed diminishes to the point where the centrifugal force is smaller than the force of gravitation, the liquid ring formed inside the centrifuge bowl under the centrifugal force collapses, and a detrimental discharge of liquid takes place at the solids discharge of the centrifuge. In accordance with the method of this invention, the rotation speed of the centrifuge bowl (2) and/or of the screw conveyor (4) is briefly abruptly changed immediately before this critical rotation speed is reached, so that the liquid ring is caused to spiral toward the liquid discharge openings (5) at the other end of the centrifuge (1) by the screw helices (3) of the screw conveyor (4).

  • Patent number: 5449422
Abstract: In the heat treatment of heat treatable material in an industrial furnace, in particular for the annealing of annealable material such as, for example, aluminum strip wound into a coil (1), by means of blowing of the annealable material with hot gas jets (8) issuing from nozzles (7), in order to insure a very good and uniform heat transfer from the hot gas stream to the material and a completely uniform temperature distribution in the coil (1), and also the rapid heating thereof, without any need to fear locally partial overtemperatures in the coil, it is proposed in accordance with the invention to move the annealable material such as, for example, the coil (1), and the hot gas jets (8) relative to one another, for example by means of the fact that the coil (1) and/or the hot gas nozzles (7) are rotated about the coil axis, so that the blowing impingement points of the hot gas jets (8) move on the blown surface of the annealable material and all desired portions there can be swept in controlled fashion.

  • Patent number: 5437599
Abstract: The material settling on the inside of the centrifuge drum during operation of centrifuges causes imbalances on account of the unavoidable nonuniform mass distribution, which imbalances lead to vibrations and the associated high level of solid-borne sound and bearing wear. The centrifuge drum shaft (15) is supported by an active (variable pressure) hydraulic bearing support (10) that is relatively simple in design and inexpensive to manufacture for this centrifuge application.

  • Patent number: 5419298
Abstract: A fuel injection pump element 15 is mounted in an engine crankcase (1) adjacent its associated cylinder 9, and in substantially parallel orientation thereto so that the high pressure outlet 20 of the injection pump element 15 is close to the injection valve 13 thus permitting a very short injection line 21. Mounting the fuel injection pump element 15 within the crankcase provides a very rigid mechanical support therefor. Use of a very short fuel injection line provides superior hydraulic rigidity as is required for achieving high injection pressures. A special bushing 31 with fuel passage may be used to mount the pump plunger bushing 19. The special bushing 31 may be made of high quality material of low porosity to add strength and avoid fuel leakage that may otherwise occur because of the porosity of the case iron crankcase.
