    Abstract: A spacer divider system adapted to partition an interior space into working sub-areas wherein desks, cabinets, and other work components are integrated with partition walls formed by modular panels that are interlocked in a spatial pattern defining the desired sub-areas or work stations. Each panel includes a frame whose corners have recesses therein bordered by side ledges. To join two or more panels in side-by-side relation to create a planar partition wall, sandwiched between the adjoining vertical sides of the panels is a standard having a longitudinal row of slots on opposing faces thereof and a threaded socket at either end. The panels are locked together at their top and bottom by a clamp which bridges the complementary side ledges of the panels and is secured to the standard by a screw received in the end socket. To join one panel at right angles to another, use is made of a four-sided connector post whose ends are notched to create a ledge on each side.

    Abstract: An adjustable footrest for use on a chair to comfortably accommodate the feet of a user. Defined on the underside of the mounting plate is an elongated hollow housing which receives the essential moving elements of the footrest mechanism. Positioned within the hollow housing is a gas cylinder that contains an actuator pin located on a piston at the upper end of the cylinder. Located near the bottom of the hollow housing is a pair of outwardly projecting legs to which is pivotally mounted an elongated leg. A portion of the leg is positioned within the housing and is pivotally mounted to the connection end of the gas cylinder. The other end of the leg extends away from the hollow housing and terminates in a tranversely positioned footrest. Pulling the handle in an upward direction presses the actuator pin within the gas cylinder, thus releasing the piston. While the user maintains the handle in its top position, the user may then exert a downward force on the footrest.

    Abstract: An adjustable keyboard support is disclosed constituted by a rear housing that pivotally supports one end of a parallel link mechanism. A front housing is carried by the other end of the parallel link mechanism, and pivotally supports a keyboard mounting plate. The parallel link mechanism permits upward and downward movement of the keyboard mounting plate without change in the tilt of that plate. A gas cylinder mechanism coupled to the front housing changes the vertical position of the same, and a slide plate adjustment mechanism provides forward and backward movement of the keyboard mounting plate.

    Abstract: A spine assembly for supporting dest tops and panels and acessories and providing for the passage of electrical wires to the desk tops and panels and accessories, as needed. A housing is utilized open at a bottom portion for receiving the electrical wires. A framework is included within the housing. One or more frameworks serve as supports for brackets which extend upwardly in turn to support panels and accessories. The framework also serves as a support for desk tops as well as a cover assembly. The cover assembly provides an opening through which electrical wires pass from the interior of the housing to the exterior thereof. In addition, brackets extend through the cover assembly for supporting panels and accessories above the cover assembly. The spine assembly is free-standing, and may be closed off by end panels as an individual item or joined to one or more other spine assemblies to create a system of furniture.

    Abstract: A cabinet of the type having an opening includes a panel which is pivotable between opening-blocking and opening-unblocking positions. The panel is slidable into the cabinet from its unblocking position along parallel spaced tracks, each of which includes a gear rack and a spur gear mounted thereon. An equalizer rod joins together the spur gears and is coupled to the panel to ensure free movement of the panel along the tracks. A tubing encloses the equalizer rod and is mounted for movement with that rod. The equalizer tube is coupled at opposite ends thereof to the tracks to prevent pivoting of the tube. Hinges are mounted to the tubing for supporting the panel for its pivotable movement.

An outer skin (10) of the panel bears against the septum edge portion (14d) urging the latter against the septum support (18c). Frame pieces (18) are joined at corners by a clip (20) having first and second legs (20b) connected to corresponding first surfaces (18-1) of adjacent frame pieces. An intermediate web (20a) joins the legs (20b), and a tab (20d) is joined to the web (20a) for connection to corresponding second surfaces (18- 2) of adjacent frame pieces.
