  • Patent number: 9679540
Abstract: A method of writing image data to a pixel array includes decoding an address and activating, based on the decoded address, two or more row selection signals. The address may be a ternary address having at least one trit. The method further includes providing the two or more row selection signals to the pixel array to select two or more rows of the pixel array, the activation of which writes the image data to pixels in the two or more rows of the pixel array.

  • Patent number: 9640178
Abstract: A speech recognition method and system enables user-configurable speech commands. For a given speech command, the speech recognition engine provides a mechanism for the end-user to select speech command terms to use in substitution for the given speech command. The speech recognition engine, or module thereof, forms a replacement command for the given speech command from the user-selected speech command terms. The speech recognition engine thereafter is synonymously responsive to user utterance of the replacement command as though the user issued/voiced the associated counterpart given speech command.

  • Patent number: 9640199
Abstract: A headset computer device provides user voice indication of location of the device. The user may implicitly or explicitly present by voice input his and hence the HSC device location. A voice driven location module is coupled to the voice recognition engine, a map database and GPS of the HSC device. Based on user voiced indications of 3D space location, the voice driven location module determines device location and resets 3D space location accordingly.

  • Patent number: 9633670
Abstract: Systems and methods are described to reduce undesired audio. An adaptive noise cancellation unit receives a main signal and a reference signal. The main signal has a main signal-to-noise ratio; the reference signal has a reference signal-to-noise ratio. The reference signal-to-noise ratio is less than the main signal-to-noise-ratio. The adaptive noise cancellation unit reduces undesired audio from the main signal. An output signal from the adaptive noise cancellation unit is input to a single channel noise cancellation unit. The single channel noise cancellation unit further reduces undesired audio from the output signal to provide mostly desired audio. A filter control creates a control signal from the main signal and the reference signal to control filtering in the adaptive noise cancellation unit and to control filtering in the single channel noise cancellation unit.

  • Publication number: 20170110142
Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described to increase a signal-to-noise ratio difference between a main channel and reference channel. The increased signal-to-noise ratio difference is accomplished with an adaptive threshold for a desired voice activity detector (DVAD) and shaping filters. The DVAD includes averaging an output signal of a reference microphone channel to provide an estimated average background noise level. A threshold value is selected from a plurality of threshold values based on the estimated average background noise level. The threshold value is used to detect desired voice activity on a main microphone channel.

  • Patent number: 9618783
Abstract: An improved Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) heating system is provided. Resistor meshes, in particular VCOM resistor heating meshes, in the pixel array improve capacity of the display heater (heating system) so that the display is heated faster from low temperatures. The resistor mesh design provides much lower resistance from one point in the pixel array to an edge than pixel-to-pixel horizontal VCOM resistance, thus reducing horizontal crosstalk. Further, the approach permits the display to be active during the warm-up process.

  • Patent number: 9491544
Abstract: Frequency domain signal extraction methods and apparatuses include receiving a reference signal, which contains mostly undesired audio and is substantially void of desired audio. The reference signal is decomposed into at least two reference frequency components. Filtering the at least two reference frequency components with at least two adaptive filters to form at least two filtered reference frequency components. The filtered reference frequency components are recombined in an IFFT component, to produce a filtered reference signal. A delayed signal is input to an adder. The delayed signal contains desired audio and undesired audio. The filtered reference signal is subtracted from the delayed signal to form an output signal containing desired audio. The output signal is decomposed into at least two frequency components. The filtering is adapted with the at least two frequency components.

  • Patent number: 9456275
Abstract: An acoustic system includes first one or mole acoustic elements designed and arranged in a first manner to facilitate generation of a first signal that includes mostly undesired audio, substantially void of desired audio, in response to a presence of the desired audio and the undesired audio. Second one or more acoustic elements are designed and arranged in a second complementary manner to facilitate generation of a second signal that includes both the desired and the undesired audio, in response to the presence of the desired audio and the undesired audio. A signal extraction component receives the first signal and the second signal. The signal extraction component further includes an inhibit component. The inhibit component is coupled to the first signal and the second signal. A delay element is coupled to a path of the second signal. The delay element introduces a deterministic delay to the second signal.

  • Patent number: 9442290
Abstract: A system performs stable control of moving devices (such as a helicopter or robot) with attached camera(s), providing live imagery back to a head-mounted computer (HMC). The HMC controls the moving device. The HMC user specifies a desired path or location for the moving device. Camera images enable the user-specified instructions to be followed accurately and the device's position to be maintained thereafter. A method of controlling a moving device with a headset computer includes analyzing, at the headset computer, at least one image received from the moving device to form an indication of change in position of the moving device. The method displays to a user of the headset computer the indication of change in position of the moving device. The method can additionally include enabling the user to control the moving device.

  • Patent number: 9417660
Abstract: In one embodiment, collapsible head mounted computer (CHMC) transforms between a collapsed and headset form via joints embedded in the structure of the headset. Joints can be in the back or sides of the CHMC. The CHMC in the headset form is configured to be mounted on the user's head. The headset form presents the display in front of the user's eye, or in the peripheral vision of the user's eye. The CHMC in the collapsed form is designed to minimize empty space to fill a smaller volume. In this manner, the CHMC can be stored away easily. The CHMC may also include an electronics module enabling onboard processing or an onboard power source to operate electronics modules and a display without an outside electrical connection. The CMHC may also employ near field communication on circuit board near joints to allow for communication regardless of the form of the device.

The primary acoustic signal contains desired audio and undesired audio and the reference acoustic signal contains mostly undesired audio, substantially void of undesired audio. A long-term mean value calculator is coupled to the ratio calculator. The long-term mean value calculator maintains an average of the ratio. A comparator is coupled to the ratio calculator and the long-term value calculator. The comparator compares the ratio with the average. Desired audio is detected when the ratio is greater than the average by a threshold amount.
