  • Patent number: 8665937
Abstract: A method for noise rise estimation in a wireless communication system comprises receiving (210) of radio signals. An interference whitening (212) is performed. A useful signal power for a first user after the interference whitening is determined (214) for a plurality of time instances. Furthermore, a first user noise floor compensation factor is derived (216) based on combining weights for the first user used in the interference whitening. A probability distribution for a compensated useful signal power for the first user is estimated (218). A conditional probability distribution of a noise floor measure is computed (220). A noise rise measure for the first user is then calculated (222) based at least on the compensated useful signal power for the first user and the conditional probability distribution of a noise floor measure.

  • Patent number: 8664999
Abstract: A mixer arrangement for generating an analog output signal by mixing an analog input signal with a discrete-time mixing signal. The mixer arrangement comprises a plurality of unit elements. Each unit element is adapted to be in an enabled mode in a first state of an enable signal supplied to the unit element, and in a disabled mode in a second state of the enable signal. Each unit element is adapted to generate the output signal of the unit element based on the analog input signal of the mixer arrangement in the enabled mode but not in the disabled mode. The unit elements are connected for generating a common output signal as the sum of the output signals from the unit elements. The mixer arrangement is adapted to generate the analog output signal of the mixer arrangement based on the common output signal. A corresponding method is also disclosed.

Abstract: A method in a communication device (100) and a communication device (100) for utilizing a first power mode and a second power mode of a digital interface (130, 330) between a first chip (110, 310) and a second chip (120, 320) are provided. When in the second power mode, the digital interface (130, 330) receives a data signal in a first time slot. The data signal comprises a control channel and a data channel. When the digital interface (130,330) enters the first power mode, the communication device (100) will determine a first point in time based on information comprised in the control channel. Furthermore, the communication device (100) determines a second point in time based on amount of data which is carried by the data channel at the first point in time. At the second point in time, the digital interface (130, 330) enters the second power mode and the data signal is transferred.

Abstract: Example embodiments presented herein are directed towards a base station (401), and corresponding method, for scheduling a downlink broadcast transmission using PDSCH. The base station (401) is also configured to provide an OFDM PDSCH to a wireless terminal (505A) which monitors ePDCCH for receiving downlink control data. Thus, by applying such a symbol, a wireless terminal (505A) which monitors ePDCCH and a wireless terminal (505B) which monitors PDCCH may receive the same downlink broadcast transmission on PDSCH. Example embodiments are also directed towards a wireless terminal (505A) for receiving such downlink broadcast transmissions.

  • Publication number: 20140056307
Abstract: Methods and systems are described to allow for the parallel processing of packets and other subsets of data that are to be delivered in order after the completion of the parallel processing. The methods and systems may process packets and subsets of data that may vary in size by orders of magnitude. The packets may be transmitted and/or received over data transmission networks that may be orders of magnitude faster than the processing speeds of the parallel processors. Entire packets or subsets of data may be allocated to individual processing units without segmenting the packets between the processing units. A count value may be inserted as metadata to received packets in order to indicate a relative order of arrival. The metadata may be utilized by a multiplexor at the output of the parallel processing units in order to maintain in-sequence delivery of the processed packets.
