Patent number: 4290113Abstract: Minicomputer including a computing unit, numeral, function and clearing inputs, a fixed-program memory and selectively freely-programmable memories, and a readout or display unit including a selector switch for calculating and converting in two systems of units selectively connectible to the fixed-program memory and the computing unit, the fixed-program memory having means for storing and reading out conversion factors and, selectively inverse values thereof as well as a corresponding dimension, the fixed-program memory having a respective input connected to a factor selection unit and to a call-up unit for the dimension of the respective selected factor and inverse value, and having a respective output connected to the computing unit and to the readout or display unit.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1978Date of Patent: September 15, 1981Assignee: Labora Mannheim GmbH fur LabortechnikInventors: Rolf Haker, Heinz-Georg Fuhrer, Rainer van Rijckevorsel, Werner Ruhl, Joachim Thiery

Patent number: 4279514Abstract: Individual strips of test tape particularly suitable for urinalysis are held in longitudinal receptacles of a rotating drum and scanned by a measuring device operative to sense light reflecting characteristics of test areas on each test tape. The measuring device is moved along a guide mechanism longitudinally of the drum and the drum is indexed in steps to bring each test tape into sensing position relative to the measuring device. Analytical data from the measuring device may be converted into graphical form by a tracer mechanism operated in response to the measuring device. An endless belt driving mechanism operates to drive the measuring device longitudinally of the drum to scan the test tapes with a lever system containing a switch arm being provided to effect both reciprocal scanning motion of the measuring device and stepped rotation of the drum relative thereto.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 1979Date of Patent: July 21, 1981Assignee: Labora Mannheim GmbH fur LabortechnikInventors: Reinhard Blumel, Jurgen Denker, Ernst Markart, Werner Trapp, Michael Tutzer, Reinhard Woznik

Patent number: 4187462Abstract: A device for determining the blood sedimentation rate in a substantially vertical test tube, where the electrical or magnetic property of a given volume of liquid, which is changed by the settling of the erythrocytes in the test tube is measured as a function of time, by means of an oscillator with an output circuit which is completed via the column of liquid to be measured and by means of a measured-value pickup, having an output signal of which a pulse sequence of a definite frequency can be fed to a pulse counter with an indicating device.A coil-capacitor resonant circuit is coupled inductively with its coil or capacitively with its capacitor to liquid at a definite height in the test tube. An additional coil inductively coupled to the resonant-circuit coil serves as the measuring pickup. A retuning circuit is provided for the retuning of the resonance of the tuned L-C circuit which is detuned by the lowering of the boundary layer between the erythrocyte column and the plasma in the test tube.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 1978Date of Patent: February 5, 1980Assignee: Labora Mannheim GmbH fur LabortechnikInventors: Rolf Haker, Klaus Schrader, Joachim Thiery

Patent number: 4084730Abstract: Disclosed is a pipette device which accommodates a detachable filling device and a detachable piston. The stroke length of the piston is determined by the selective engagement of an abutment, movable with the piston, with stepped surfaces cut into a sleeve movable within an enclosing housing. A control member accessible at the housing exterior is angularly shifted to move the sleeve and thus select the step with which the abutment will engage, thereby determining the length of the working stroke of the piston.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1976Date of Patent: April 18, 1978Assignee: Labora Mannheim GmbH fur LabortechnikInventors: Rainer-Burkhard Franke, Adolf Hirschmann, Klaus Kaser
