  • Patent number: 4852222
Abstract: The device comprises a base (10) on which is articulated a tension lever (9) acting on cables (6, 7). These cables are attached to a member (16) movable between two positions, namely a tightening position and a relaxation position, and mounted for sliding on the tensioning lever (9). Said movable member is displaceable by means of an auxiliary lever (11) mounted on the tensioning lever (9).

  • Patent number: 4841650
Abstract: This ski boot of semi-rigid synthetic material has a lower portion (3) comprising the sole and at least one pair of opposite flaps (11, 12, 13, 14) controlled by means of a foot-tightening system. The flaps are covered by a vamp (5) attached or not to the front quarter (4) of the boot shaft. This front quarter (4) is allowed to bend forwards with respect to the vamp (5) and bears against a resilient member (29) mounted on or under the vamp so as to provide an elastic flexion of which the elasticity is adjustable. With this construction the skier's foot is properly held in the boot without impairing the boot tightness.

  • Patent number: 4821433
Abstract: The boot is composed of a lower shell (1), on which an upper (2) is articulated about a pivot axis (5) coinciding at least approximately with the joint of the foot. The shell (1) has on the outside, at the rear, a rounded portion (12), the radius of curvature of which is centered on the pivot axis (5), to allow the upper (2) to tilt to the rear. Means, such as ribs (17), are provided inside the part (11) of the shell in order to limit the space intended for receiving the skier's heel.

  • Patent number: 4761899
Abstract: The boot comprises an upper (4) hinged (5) with a shell (1). A mechanism allows the upper to be locked to the shell or to be pivoted. This mechanism consists of two links (7, 8) hinged with each other and, on the one hand, with the shell (10) and, on the other hand, with the upper (11). The pin (9) hingeably connecting the links together is accommodated, on the one hand, inside a notch (19b) in the top link (8) and, on the other hand, in a fixed oblong aperture (16). The notch (19b) leads into an oblong aperture (19a) in the top link (8). The mechanism is kept in this locked position by a spring (26). A lever (27) enables the oblong aperture (19a) to be brought opposite the hinging point (9) so that this pin is able to slide inside the superimposed apertures (16, 19a).

  • Patent number: 4735004
Abstract: This shell-type ski-boot comprising a lower portion molded integrally with the sole and an upper made of a front quarter and a rear quarter pivotally interconnected and fulcrumed on the lower portion, is proveded with a telescopic traction device adapted to close the upper tightly and automatically when the front quarter is bent forwards. The telescopic traction device comprises a male member and a female member the relative axial sliding movement of which causes the rear quarter of the upper to move toward the front quarter. For this purpose, a pair of cables anchored to the rear face of the rear quarter are guided around the boot sides and inside a pulley-block comprising two sets of pulleys, one set being fixed and the other movable for varying the cable length and therefore the degree of tightening of the boot on the skier's ankle.

  • Patent number: 4677771
Abstract: The boot consists of a shell having a lower part (1), on which is articulated an upper part (2, 3) which can pivot about a substantially horizontal pivot pin (4). This pivoting is limited by an elastic device (7) mounted between the upper part (2) and the shell (1). This elastic device comprises a rigid base (8), in the extension of which is mounted a bar of elastic material (15) having the same cross-section as the base. A tubular slide (19) slides on the base and prevents the elastic material from expanding when axial pressure is exerted on the latter. The elasticity of the device therefore varies according to the position of the slide (19). A means of axial guidance prevents the elastic material (15) from bending or buckling.

  • Patent number: 4660302
Abstract: This ski boot comprises a fastening and tension device consisting of a cogged strap of which the teeth are cycloidal segments parallel to the strap plane. These teeth cooperate with drive studs carried by a rotary disc coupled to a control knob. The studs are disposed at spaced angular intervals on a circumference so that they describe cycloids corresponding to the teeth with respect to the strap.

  • Patent number: 4660303
Abstract: This ski boot comprises an inner skipper fitted in a rigid outer shell and the skier's heel is caused to fit in the rear portion of the boot by a pressure plate disposed between the shell and the slipper, on the instep. The pressure exerted by this plate is obtained by means of a cable acting in the fashion of a garrot when a rotary control member is actuated so as to twist the cable having its ends attached to the shell in the heel portion thereof.

  • Patent number: 4587747
Abstract: A ski boot with rear entry including a rigid shell integrally formed with a front part of an upper, opened towards the rear throughout its height and of a sort to be closed by a shield articulated on the boot in such a way as to be provided with at least two degrees of freedom, which permits every movement thereof, albeit limited, both in rotation and in translation in a substantially vertical plane, when the fastening means are in a closed position. It is possible, hence, to ensure the best possible fitting of the shield to the shape of the ankle and of the lower part of the calf. The shield may be articulated on the boot through its lower end in such a way as to permit play.
