  • Patent number: 11913145
Abstract: A weaving machine includes a shed forming device, a weft insertion device, and a weaving reed that beats up the weft threads at a beat up plane against an edge of the woven fabric. A guide device extends over a width of the woven fabric and is driven by a drive, the guide device being one or both of an upper guide unit that contacts a top surface of the woven fabric or a lower guide unit that contacts a bottom surface of the woven fabric. A control unit controls alternating movement of the guide unit along the direction of thickness of the woven fabric as the fabric is being woven based on information related to one or both of a structure of the woven fabric in the area of the beat up plane or a position of the warp threads in the open loom shed.

  • Patent number: 10487425
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for producing and drawing-off a woven fabric web (2) with a weaving machine (1) make use of two clamp carriers (7.1, 7.2) with clamps (10.1, 10.2). The clamp carriers are driven back and forth parallel to a drawing-off direction of the fabric web. The clamp carriers are respectively drivable with a pair of drive spindles (14.1, 14.2) arranged so that the web center of the fabric web within the apparatus extends in an area between the two drive spindles of the respective clamp carrier. The fabric web is produced with successive main sections (4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4) and auxiliary sections (3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5). The clamps are actuated so that the opening and closing of the clamps takes place only in the time segments of the production in which an auxiliary section of the fabric web is being produced.

  • Patent number: 10472745
Abstract: Apparatus and method for holding and feeding weft threads to the gripper of a weaving machine with drives, with which clamps for the weft threads are moved on motion paths into respectively a feed position, a transfer position and a ready position. The motion path of each clamp comprises a shape that is closed in itself. In that regard, the motion beginning of at least one of the clamps out of its ready position into its feed position takes place in a time segment that extends from the beginning of the beat-up motion of the weaving reed until the beat-up of the previously inserted weft thread against the beat-up line of the weaving machine.

  • Patent number: 10464093
Abstract: An apparatus has first and second coating nozzles for applying a liquid coating material respectively to two sides of a running flat material web, and has first and second rigid supply line sections for supplying the coating material to the respective coating nozzles. At least one of the coating nozzles is transferable from a working position to a maintenance position and back. In the working position, throughflow channels in the supply line sections communicate with one another to provide a throughflow of the coating material to the coating nozzles. When transferring at least one of the coating nozzles from the working position to the maintenance position, the rigid supply line sections are automatically moved relative to one another so that the throughflow channels therein are interrupted so as to interrupt the flow of the coating material to this coating nozzle.

  • Patent number: 8770235
Abstract: For producing woven fabrics with additional pattern effects, one or more effect threads are supplied substantially in the warp direction and are moved over neighboring warp threads in the weft direction, above a weft thread that is to be inserted, in various motion cycles of a weaving machine. Subsequently the effect threads are positioned below a subsequent weft thread, by submerging the effect threads into upwardly open reed gaps of a reed. To facilitate this, the reed includes first reed blades which, at their upper end, each include a sloping thread guide element projecting in the longitudinal direction of the reed, so as to at least partially extend over the upwardly facing opening of a neighboring reed gap. The reed further includes second reed blades having no such sloping thread guide elements. The guide elements guide the effect threads down into the proper reed gaps.

  • Patent number: 8733406
Abstract: For weaving pattern formation of a woven fabric with weft threads (3), warp threads (1) and effect threads (2), data sets (20) are produced according to a method in which data values are derived from weft sequence numbers (30) and from positions of interlacing points (P) of an effect thread (2) with the weft threads (3) in the pattern repeat (29). These data sets (20) are supplemented by further data values (31, 32, 33, 34) derived from the weaving pattern, in such a manner so that they form a pattern draft (28) for a weaving pattern with additional weft effects. In a weaving machine with devices for slidingly displacing effect threads (2) in the weft direction (12), the weaving pattern formation is derived from the data sets (20) of this pattern draft (28).

  • Patent number: 8490656
Abstract: A weaving apparatus includes a weaving machine and a shedding machine that carries out activatable and deactivatable movements of the shedding devices with a shedding drive that is controlled independently of a weaving drive of the weaving machine. After detection of an operating malfunction, e.g. a weft fault or a warp fault, the shedding devices are controlled such that measures for eliminating the operating malfunction can be carried out. In that regard, the rotational speed of the weaving machine is reduced, but the shedding machine is further operated at a relatively high rotational speed, preferably without stopping the shedding machine while the malfunction is eliminated. Then, the speed of the weaving machine is increased and again essentially synchronized with the shedding machine, to resume the regular weaving operation.
