Abstract: “Tiered” groups of devices (tiered service radios) and/or licenses associated with the devices or users so as to provide a hieratical set of interference protection mechanisms for members of each tier of service are disclosed. Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint data links for any communication application, including wireless backhaul applications, are also disclosed. Exemplary systems, devices, and methods disclosed herein allow for the efficient operation of such a tiered service. Interference protection among tiered service devices belonging to one or more tiers of the service, from other devices within the same tier of service, or devices of other tiers of service, is disclosed. Identification of other devices of the same or differing tiers of service, and interference mitigation between other tiered service devices based upon intercommunication between the devices, and/or via a central registry database, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A payload coupling apparatus is provided including a housing, wherein the housing is adapted for attachment to a first end of a tether, a slot extending downwardly from an outer surface of the housing towards a center of the housing thereby forming a lower tip on the housing beneath the slot, and wherein the slot is adapted to receive a handle of a payload. A method of delivering a payload using the payload coupling apparatus is also provided.

Abstract: A manipulator arm for moving a load from a first position at a first elevation, to a second position at a second elevation, provides a base and defines plural spaced apart axle holes. A fulcrum lever link formed of a channel beam defines plural spaced apart axle holes. A first load member, and two support members extend between, and pivotally interconnect, the base plate and the fulcrum lever link and define a quadrilateral lift frame about the pivotal interconnections. An actuator operatively communicates between the first load member and the fulcrum lever link and the fulcrum lever link provides mechanical advantage to the actuator to cause the quadrilateral lift frame to change from a first configuration at the first position to a second configuration at the second position.

Abstract: An inflatable web is disclosed. The web includes a first film and second film ply sealed together via a plurality of generally transverse seals. The transverse seals define first and second inflatable chambers. The inflatable chambers are inflatable with, and contain, a fluid. The web defines a separation region extending at least partially between the first and second inflatable chambers in a substantially transverse direction across the web and configured to facilitate separation of the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear initiation feature that facilitates tearing of the web to separate the first and second inflatable chambers. The separation region includes a tear propagation line at least partially longitudinally offset from the tear initiation feature, and close enough to the tear initiation feature that force imparted to the web via the tear initiation feature will tear of the web through the tear propagation line.

The virtual representation is generated based on a digitization of a real-world object. The properties are employed to identify attributes associated with the virtual representation, such as temperature, weight, or sharpness of an edge, among other attributes of the virtual object. A degree of exhibition of the attributes is also determined based on the properties and their degrees of exhibition. Thereby, the virtual representation is provided with one or more attributes that instruct presentation and interactions of the virtual representation in a virtual world.

Abstract: Self-driving vehicles have unlimited potential to learn and predict human behavior and perform actions accordingly. Several embodiments described herein include a method of using a vehicle management system to identify a high traffic area and move a self-driving vehicle to meet a rider. Methods also include receiving, by the vehicle management system, a primary pick-up location to meet the rider and detecting, by an antenna of the self-driving vehicle, a number of remote computing devices adjacent the primary pick-up location. Additionally, methods may include determining, by at least one of the vehicle management system and a remote computing device associated with the rider, that the number of remote computing devices exceeds a predetermined remote computing device threshold.

The method and apparatus may comprise, in the image captures, measuring pixel intensity selecting pixels with a predetermined intensity thresholds, calculating a ratio based on a channel selection, normalizing the calculated ratio to an ideal ratio, and applying the normalized ratio to corresponding image pixels in a second image capture to produce a flicker-free image.

The URL is then returned to the client.

Abstract: Ceramic composite materials that are reinforced with carbide fibers can exhibit ultra-high temperature resistance. For example, such materials may exhibit very low creep at temperatures of up to 2700° F. (1480° C.). The present composites are specifically engineered to exhibit matched thermodynamically stable crystalline phases between the materials included within the composite. In other words, the reinforcing fibers, a debonding interface layer disposed over the reinforcing fibers, and the matrix material of the composite may all be of the same crystalline structural phase (all hexagonal), for increased compatibility and improved properties. Such composite materials may be used in numerous applications.
