Patent number: 10538036Abstract: A laser welding method and system for joining portions of first and second workpieces of thermoplastic material that is partially permeable to a laser beam but absorbs radiation from the laser beam. The first and second workpieces, which are made of material that absorbs radiation from a laser beam, are clamped together. A mask is placed on a first surface of the first workpiece, the first surface being opposite the surface engaging the second workpiece. The mask is impermeable to a laser beam and forms a slot for passing a laser beam to the portion of the first surface of the upper workpiece exposed by the slot, so that heating and melting of the material of the workpieces is limited to the width of the slot. A laser beam is directed onto the slot and moved in a manner to illuminate the slot to melt and join the workpieces.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2016Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: Dukane IAS, LLCInventors: Alexander Savitski, Grzegorz Zdzislaw Bugaj, Leo Klinstein

Patent number: 10541719Abstract: Detection of a confusion caused by scrambling code reuse is provided herein. Timing measurements, as observed by a mobile device, and an identification of primary scrambling codes associated with the timing measurements are captured. The timing measurements are identified by the primary scrambling codes for the particular radio measured. The mobile device also reports its location information. Radios for which timing measurements have been received are paired. Based on the paired radios and a history of observed time difference reference values for radio pairs, comparisons are made between paired radios having at least one common radio. Radios, exhibiting a set of values that is near an expected range, are removed from the analysis. Radios, exhibiting two sets of values that are distinct, are isolated in order to identify the radio that is causing the scrambling code confusion.Type: GrantFiled: September 27, 2018Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: AT&T MOBILITY II LLCInventors: Jeremy Fix, Sheldon Kent Meredith, Rick Tipton

Patent number: 10539680Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for determining the accuracy of a satellite-based navigation system for a vehicle during operation on a test route. The method includes providing a light beam propagating essentially perpendicularly to the direction of travel along the test route at each of two selected measurement points on the test route. Upon detection of the light beams impacting the vehicle perpendicularly to the direction of travel, a detection of the position and the direction of travel measured by a receiver of the satellite-based navigation system is triggered by means of an optical triggering device fastened on the vehicle. Finally, an accuracy of the satellite-based navigation system is determined on the basis of the two detected positions and directions of travel and position coordinates of the two selected measurement points. The disclosure also relates to a corresponding system for determining the accuracy of a satellite-based navigation system.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2017Date of Patent: January 21, 2020Assignee: FORD GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES, LLCInventor: David Longin
