Abstract: An aerosol-generating device may include a housing having flexible portion along its length. The flexible portion is configured to transition between a relaxed or unloaded configuration and a flexed or deflected configuration. A flexible heating element and mouthpiece may also be disposed in the housing. When the housing is in a relaxed or unloaded configuration, the flexible heating element and the mouthpiece are at least partially longitudinally aligned with the flexible portion of the housing.
Abstract: A mouthpiece assembly for use with a vaporizer device includes a mouthpiece having an opening formed axially therethrough from a first end to an opposing second end thereof and an inner tubular member configured to be slidably received within the opening of the mouthpiece. A sliding of the inner tubular member within the opening of the mouthpiece changes an axial length of the mouthpiece assembly to allow for the mouthpiece assembly to be coupled to a variety of different outer tubular members of differing axial lengths that are compatible for use with the mouthpiece assembly for forming the resulting vaporizer device.
Abstract: The present technology relates to a display control device and a display control method each of which is capable of further improving operability. Provided is a display control device including a control unit that displays a plurality of items associated with a display screen, and, in a case where a desired item is selected by a user operation from the plurality of displayed items, displays a selected display screen corresponding to the selected item together with the display screen that is currently displayed, the selected display screen being displayed at a position relative to a display position of the selected item. The present technology is applicable to, for example, a television receiver.
Abstract: Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission system between transmitting and receiving devices are provided. In an embodiment, each of the transmitting and receiving devices can contain a master key. The transmitting device can generate a diversified key using the master key, protect a counter value and encrypt data prior to transmitting to the receiving device, which can generate the diversified key based on the master key and can decrypt the data and validate the protected counter value using the diversified key.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided to provide a steering indicator to a driver of a vehicle. It is determined whether a first obstacle is in a forward path of the vehicle and whether a second obstacle is present at a side of the vehicle. In response to (a) determining the first obstacle is in the forward path and (b) determining whether the second obstacle is present at the one or more sides of the vehicle, a suggested steering action indicator indicating one or more movements for the vehicle to avoid the first obstacle is provided to a user interface of the vehicle.
Abstract: A system and method for creating a secure overlay network on top of the public Internet, optionally by creating an identity-based network in which user identities are the identifiers rather than IP addresses, and whereas only authenticated and authorized users whose identity has been established have visibility and access to the network; establishing fully encrypted and private network segments; providing superior performance through improved protocols and routing; and implementing a decentralized topology that allows any two nodes on it to communicate regardless of each node's location or network settings—as if the two nodes are on the same local area network.
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to the delivery of media content over a network. Specifically, aspects are directed to identification and/or extraction of a selected data such as a video clip from content and providing identifying information to a user to retrieve, view, and/or share the selected video clip. Aspects described herein provide the ability to identify a starting point and stopping point of a video clip on a media gateway device and generate a URL that can be used and/or shared in order to access the selected video clip. The URL may identify a stored media clip, or may contain information from which a video clip can be recreated.
Abstract: The invention provides recombinant DNA molecules and constructs, as well as their nucleotide sequences, useful for modulating gene expression in plants. The invention also provides transgenic plants, plant cells, plant parts, and seeds comprising the recombinant DNA molecules operably linked to heterologous transcribable DNA molecules, as are methods of their use.

Abstract: Validating actions in a digital assistant-based application is provided. The system identifies an application with a conversational interface. The system selects an action from an action repository and generates, via a natural language processor, a trigger phrase for input into the application. The system executes the application to process the trigger phrase to identify an action of the application. The system identifies a parameter used by the application to execute the action, and generates, based on the parameter and via execution of the conversational interface of the application, a first query responsive to the trigger phrase. The system generates a first response to the first query for input into the application. The system determines, based on execution of the application to process the first response, a state of the application. The system evaluates the state to determine an error code and provide a notification based on the error code.
Abstract: The techniques described within this disclosure are directed to an in-line adaptor or coupling device of a PON that detects incoming optical signals (e.g., of different services) being delivered over the PON on different bands of wavelengths supported by an incoming optical fiber of the PON, converts (if necessary) any optical signals to suitable wavelength signals, and transmits the converted optical signals to a last mile termination unit via suitable output interfaces. At least a portion of the incoming optical signals are not converted by the in-line adaptor, and instead are passed-through the in-line adaptor to the last mile termination unit via an optical output interface. The in-line adaptor further includes one or more wireless interfaces via which information pertaining to the received optical signals and/or other information related to the in-line adaptor is transmitted to one or more recipient devices.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to contaminant detection systems and related optical systems and methods. An example contaminant detection system includes an optical coupler configured to couple light into and/or out of an optical element. The contaminant detection system also includes a plurality of light-emitter devices configured to emit emission light toward the optical coupler. The contaminant detection system additionally includes a plurality of detector devices configured to detect at least a portion of the emission light by way of the optical element and the optical coupler. The plurality of detector devices is also configured to provide detector signals indicative of a presence of a contaminant on the optical element.
Abstract: In one example, an apparatus comprises: a photodiode configured to generate a charge in response to light within an exposure period, a charge sensing unit configured to accumulate at least a part of the charge as an overflow charge, a quantizer, and a controller configured to: within a first time within the exposure period, control the quantizer to perform a first quantization operation to quantize the overflow charge accumulated at the charge sensing unit to generate a first measurement output; within a second time after the first time, and within the exposure period, control the quantizer to perform a second quantization operation to quantize the overflow charge accumulated at the charge sensing unit to generate a second measurement output; and generate a digital output to represent an intensity of the light based on at least one of the first measurement output or the second measurement output.
Abstract: According to the invention, there is provided seed and plants of the hybrid corn variety designated CH011197. The invention thus relates to the plants, seeds and tissue cultures of the variety CH011197, and to methods for producing a corn plant produced by crossing a corn plant of variety CH011197 with itself or with another corn plant, such as a plant of another variety. The invention further relates to genetic complements of plants of variety CH011197.

Abstract: The system and methods described herein allow users to give their applicant information when seeking to submit an inquiry associated with a product provided by at least one entity, and have various lender microservices run in parallel, segregated by entity, in a jailed and self-contained, autonomous environment. The result of these microservices may be returned as a response to the inquity, being determined autonomously for each respective entity based on one or more respective rule sets or executable logic for each respective entity. Payloads for multiple entities may be combined in a single output from the jailed and self-contained environment due to outputs from the environment being encrypted in a universal format, wherein the outputs are decrypted in a user session in an application, allowing the user to see the results of the respective responses of each of the at least one entity, to their inquiry.
