  • Patent number: 11648124
Abstract: The methods disclosed herein of generating three-dimensional lattice structures and reducing stress shielding have applications including use in medical implants. One method of generating a three-dimensional lattice structure can be used to generate a structure lattice and/or a lattice scaffold to support bone or tissue growth. One method of reducing stress shielding includes generating a structural lattice to provide sole mechanical spacing across an area for desired bone or tissue growth. Some examples can use a repeating modified rhombic dodecahedron or radial dodeca-rhombus unit cell. Some methods are also capable of providing a lattice structure with anisotropic properties to better suit the lattice for its intended purpose.

  • Patent number: 11652312
Abstract: An indoor electrical wall outlet cover permitting functional use of an electrical wall outlet while concealing the plug contact openings of the outlet. The cover has a functional electrical plug that inserts into the wall outlet and is connected to an extended electrical cord having at its distal end a direct connection to a small appliance, lamp, or electronic device for indirect use of the wall outlet. In one embodiment, the cover is essentially featureless in outward appearance, and when positioned over the wall outlet, the cover fully hides the wall outlet from view. The functional electrical plug has electrical connection pins that are bent at a angle enabling the cover to function without extending any significant degree outward of the wall outlet, so that furniture or the connected appliance, lamp, or device may be positioned effectively flush against the wall in front of the covered wall outlet.

  • Patent number: 11652883
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for accessing a scale-out block interface in a cloud-based distributed computing environment (CBDCE). During operation, an instance of a block device service (BDS) receives a data request from a client. The BDS instance translates the data request into a set of data block accesses, and then sends the translated data request to a data processing layer service (DPL). The DPL instance services the data request using a set of data operations that leverage one or more of a distributed cache, a distributed database, and a cloud storage system. The BDS service leverages the DPL instance to provide to the client an abstraction of a highly-available block storage device with unlimited storage space via the scale-out block interface.

  • Patent number: 11652195
Abstract: An illumination apparatus is manufactured by selectively removing passive optical nanostructures from a monolithic array of light-emitting elements while preserving their relative spatial position. The nanostructures are selected such that, in at least one direction, for at least one pair of the selectively removed passive optical nanostructures, for each respective pair there is at least one nanostructure that is not selected that was positioned in the monolithic array between the pair of selectively removed passive optical nanostructures in the at least one direction, forming a non-monolithic array of passive optical nanostructures with the selectively removed passive optical nanostructures while preserving their relative spatial position, and aligning each of the passive optical nanostructures of the non-monolithic array with a respective light-emitting element of the non-monolithic array of light-emitting elements.

  • Patent number: 11652540
Abstract: In one implementation, load balancing within a constellation of communications satellites is performed. Anticipated positions of satellites are determined. Each satellite is configured to provide multiple beams that define a coverage footprint for the satellite. Based on the anticipated positions of the satellites, it is determined that a first coverage footprint for a first satellite provides primary coverage of a high traffic region and portions of the first coverage footprint for the first satellite also will be covered by coverage footprints for other satellites, Based on these determinations, a beam assignments are defined in which a first subset of beams of the first satellite configured to provide coverage of a first portion of the first coverage footprint are inactive and a second subset of beams of the second satellite are active. The second subset of beams of the second satellite provide coverage within the first portion of the first coverage footprint.

  • Patent number: 11651435
Abstract: In order to provide agile and dynamic portfolio management, systems and methods for underwriting and portfolio management include an ecosystem including a platform, including processing devices, communication interfaces, runtime environments, and databases, where the databases are configured to store ecosystem data, where the ecosystem data includes data associated with a plurality of systems. A service layer is in communication with the platform, the service layer including containers executed in the runtime environment and configured to implement microservices, where each of the containers include: at least one microservice and a datastore device configured to store domain-specific data. An orchestrator is in communication with the service layer, the orchestrator to schedule execution of the microservices according to bounded contexts coordinated with composite application programming interfaces (API) interfacing with a microservice specific API.

  • Patent number: 11653268
Abstract: A core network can send first data transmissions to a radio access network (RAN) at a first data rate that is based at least in part on a first RAT policy associated with a first RAT used by the RAN for downlink transmissions to user equipment. The core network can obtain information indicating that the RAN is using a second RAT for the downlink transmissions to the user equipment. The core network can cause a RAT policy that is applied to the data transmissions from the core network to the RAN to be changed from the first RAT policy to a second RAT policy that is associated with the second RAT. The core network can send second data transmissions from the core network to the RAN at a second data rate that is based at least in part on the second RAT policy.

  • Patent number: 11652732
Abstract: A system and method for scattering network traffic across a number of disparate hosts is provided. Each gateway located along a real transmission pathway between a real point of origin and a real point of destination is identified. A network and a sub-network for each gateway is identified. At least one host along the real transmission pathway is used to observe network traffic for a number of illusionary hosts, each having network addresses appearing to be plausibly located along the real transmission pathway. A host having aggregate network traffic data deviating the most from a mean value for all hosts is selected. The network address for the selected host is used as the source address of an outgoing IP datagram.

  • Patent number: 11651658
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing a wagering system may receive a stream of state information of a live sporting event in real time and determine initial and possible future states of a first performance parameter of the event based on the stream. After a beginning of the game and before the start of the event, a probability of occurrence is calculated for possible future states of the first performance parameter, based on historical data. During an initial state of the first performance parameter, a signal operative to open a first market for betting on the possible future states based on the probability of occurrence is transmitted. Before an end of the initial state, a signal operative to close the first market is transmitted, and then an outcome of the first performance parameter is determined based on the stream. Payouts of the first market are resolved based on the outcome.

  • Patent number: 11648865
Abstract: A cupholder adapter for a large beverage container has a base, a container holder that upwardly extends from the base, and a shell insert that extends downwardly from the base. The shell insert snaps into a first shell, which may be press-fit into OEM vehicle cupholders of a relatively small size. Further shells may be sequentially and releasably attached over the first shell to fit the assembly to OEM vehicle cupholders of larger sizes. An axis of the container holder may be offset from the axis of the shell insert, so as to permit two such cupholder adapters to be installed in two cupholders closely spaced from each other in a vehicle center console.
