Abstract: Systems and methods performed for generating authentication information for an image using optical computing are provided. When a user takes a photo of an object, an optical authentication system receives light reflected and/or emitted from the object. The system also receives a random key from an authentication server. The system converts the received light to plenoptic data and uploads it to the authentication server. In addition, the system generates an optical hash of the received light using the random key, converts the generated optical hash to a digital optical hash, and uploads the digital optical hash to the authentication server. When the authentication server receives the upload, it verifies whether the time of the upload is within a certain threshold time from the sending of the random key and whether the digital optical hash was generated from the same light as the plenoptic data.

Abstract: A charging system includes an AC-DC converter for connecting to AC mains; a DC-link connected to the AC-DC converter output; and a DC-DC converter having an input coupled to the AC-DC converter output, a control input, and an output. The DC-DC converter includes drive circuitry for controlling the DC-DC converter. A controller has a feedforward input for receiving a signal corresponding to a voltage across the DC-link, a feedback input for receiving a signal corresponding to an output current provided by the DC-DC converter, and an output coupled to the control input of the DC-DC converter. The controller generates a control signal which controls the drive circuitry based upon a positive half cycle and a negative half cycle of ripple voltage at the DC-link, and a ripple current amplitude at the DC-DC converter output during at least one of the positive half cycle or the negative half cycle.
Abstract: Techniques for video content based on multiple capture devices are described and are implementable to enable multiple video capture devices to be utilized for a video feed. Generally, the described implementations enable video content captured by multiple video capture devices to be utilized, such as to integrate different instances of video content into a merged video content stream. In at least one implementation this provides higher quality video attributes to be utilized than is provided by utilizing a single video content source.

Abstract: Text recognition in a video stream using combined recognition results with per-character weighting. In an embodiment, for each frame in a video stream, a text-recognition result is obtained and a frame weight is calculated. The text-recognition results of the frames are combined by aligning character-recognition results and calculating a character weight for each character-recognition result. At each position in the alignment, the character-recognition results are accumulated based on the character weights and frame weights to produce an accumulated text-recognition result that represents a text field in the video stream.

Abstract: A prosthetic capsular device configured to be inserted in an eye includes a housing structure and a ring structure. The housing structure includes a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a third side, a fourth side opposite the third side, a posterior side including a refractive surface, an anterior side opposite the posterior side, and a longitudinal axis. The first side, the second side, the third side, the fourth side, the posterior side, and the anterior side at least partially define a cavity configured to contain an intraocular device (e.g., an IOL). The anterior side includes an opening. The ring structure includes a ring structure portion extending radially outward from proximate one of an end of the first side and an end of the second side.
Abstract: A mower reel grinding system a plurality of mower unit types, including a grinding wheel shaft, the grinding wheel shaft at a fixed position in an x-y plane. A mounting plate includes a number of predetermined fixed mounting positions on the mounting plate, each predetermined fixed mounting positions corresponding to at least one type of mower unit of the plurality of mower unit types, a mounting bracket to receive a mower unit, the mounting bracket selectively moveable to the predetermined fixed position corresponding to the mower unit type to be received thereby, and a pivot point about which the mounting plate rotates to adjust a position of the mounting bracket in the x-y plane relative to the grinding wheel shaft.
Abstract: A lubricant supported electric motor includes an outer stator and an inner stator each extending around an axis in radially spaced relationship with one another. A rotor is rotatably disposed between the inner and outer stators to define an inner gap extending radially between the rotor and the inner stator and an outer gap extending radially between the rotor and the outer stator. A lubricant is disposed in both of the inner and outer gaps for supporting the rotor radially between the inner and outer stators. The lubricant supported motor with a two-sided radial flux configuration results in improved rotor-to-stator system stiffness to allow the lubricant supported electric motor to be used in high shock and high vibration environments, while also providing high torque in a small and lightweight design package.

Abstract: A system and method for the treatment of invasive pests includes an irradiation device that can generate an electron beam that is applicable to a tree infected by an invasive pest, wherein the electron beam provides an in-situ treatment for the tree infected by the invasive pest by killing the invasive pest via electron beam irradiation.
