Abstract: The disclosure provides apparatus and methods of use pertaining to a bidirectional biomechanical prosthetic finger assembly. In one embodiment, the assembly includes an eccentric metacarpophalangeal (MCP) pivot configured for swivelable attachment to a hand of a user, a distal coupler, and an articulation assembly rotatively coupled therebetween. A ring configured to receive a user's residual finger is disposed upon the articulation assembly, and may be adjusted to a target location based on a length of the residual finger. The articulation assembly is configured to utilize vertical movements of the residual finger within the ring to articulate the distal coupler within a plane parallel to an x-z plane, and the MCP pivot is configured to utilize lateral movements of the residual finger within the ring to articulate the distal coupler within a plane parallel to an x-y plane. The colored TPO membrane can have a cap layer having a top color layer and a white sub-layer having a solar reflectance underneath the top color layer, and a core layer underneath the cap layer. The colored TPO roofing membrane can have a reinforcing polyester scrim between the cap layer and the core layer. The white sub-layer can be made up of one or more layers.

Abstract: A method for determining an initial bitrate for a communication includes receiving a communication request to establish a digital communication between a first user device and a second user device associated with a plurality of features including a geographical identifier identifying a geographical location associated with the first user device, a first network type connection associated with the first user device, a second network type connection associated with the second user device, and an average bitrate for a previous digital communication of the first user device. The method includes determining, using an initial bitrate predictor model configured to receive the plurality of features as feature inputs, an initial bitrate for the digital communication between the first user device and the second user device, and establishing the digital communication between the first user device and the second user device at the determined initial bitrate.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a system includes a surface processor and a tool drill string having a downhole device including a downhole processor. The surface processor may include a memory storing instructions, and the surface processor may be communicatively coupled to the downhole processor. The surface processor may be configured to execute the instructions to receive one or more first measurements from the downhole device, and determine whether the one or more first measurements satisfy a threshold measurement. Responsive to determining the one or more first measurements satisfy the threshold measurement, the surface processor may electronically modify a weight on bit by a first amount and electronically modify a revolutions per minute of a motor by a second amount.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for content quasi-personalization or anonymized content retrieval via aggregated browsing history of a large plurality of devices, such as millions or billions of devices. A sparse matrix may be constructed from the aggregated browsing history, and dimensionally reduced, reducing entropy and providing anonymity for individual devices. Relevant content may be selected via quasi-personalized clusters representing similar browsing histories, without exposing individual device details to content providers.

Abstract: A method provides for requesting data in a cloud gaming system that includes a cloud storage system and a cloud compute system, each of which has a respective peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) interface and a respective computer memory. The cloud gaming system includes a PCIe switch connected to both the PCIe interface of the cloud storage system and the PCIe interface of the cloud compute system. The PCIe switch exposes a doorbell register that is monitored by the cloud storage system. The cloud compute system writes to the doorbell register, which causes an interrupt to fire on the cloud storage system. The cloud storage system handles the interrupt, which directs the cloud storage system to read a message from a specified computer memory location. The message directs the cloud storage system to read requested data from a storage device accessible by the cloud storage system.

Abstract: A forest fire retardant composition contains a retardant compound that includes a phosphate salt. The phosphate salt may include diammonium phosphate, diammonium orthophosphate, monoammonium phosphate, monoammonium orthophosphate, monosodium phosphate, disodium phosphate, disodium phosphate hydrate, sodium ammonium phosphate, sodium ammonium phosphate hydrate, sodium tripolyphosphate, trisodium phosphate, or dipotassium phosphate, and combinations thereof. The forest fire retardant composition may include an ammonium source. The composition may be in the form of a dry concentrate, a liquid concentrate, or a final diluted product. The final diluted product is effective in suppressing, retarding, and controlling forest fires while exhibiting corrosion resistance and low toxicity.

The system includes an energy storage element, an overvoltage protection device, a ground conductor, at least a current conductor, at least a sensor, and a controller. The overvoltage protection device is configured to control transmission of electrical power through the connector. The at least a sensor is configured to detect an output voltage of the connector. The controller is communicatively connected to the at least a sensor. The controller is configured to determine an overvoltage output, and activate the over based on detection of the overvoltage output.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for usage-tracking of various information security (InfoSec) entities for tenants/organization onboarded on an instant multi-tenant security assurance platform. The InfoSec entities include policies, procedures, controls and evidence tasks. A policy or procedure is enforced by implementing one or more controls, and the collection of one or more evidence tasks proves/verifies the implementation of a control. The InfoSec entities are linked to each other across the platform and accrue a number of benefits for the tenants. These include generating a security questionnaire response (SQR), defining a readiness project and an audit project, sharing InfoSec entities encompassing the various products of a tenant, automating risk assessment, automatic collection of evidence tasks for verifying the implementation and/or operational state/status of various mitigating controls, etc.

Abstract: Systems and methods for determining a risk of damage to a crop on an agronomic field are described. In an embodiment, a computer system receives, for each hour of a first day, weather data identifying temperature values and humidity values associated with a geographic location. The computer system determines, for a particular hour of the first day, that a temperature value is within a first range of values and a humidity value is within a second range of values and, in response, identifies the particular hour as a risk hour. The computer system computes, for a second day, a risk value for one or more agronomic fields at the geographic location based, at least in part, on one or more identified risk hours between a day of planting a crop on the one or more agronomic fields and the second day.

Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a modular vehicle roof frame with at least two support members having at an upper end at least one coupling member through which the support member is axially assembled and releasably coupled to a plurality of top frame members such that each top frame member is releasably coupled to a plurality of support members. In an illustrative example, when the frame is assembled the support members may be substantially vertical and the top frame members may be substantially horizontal. When the frame is coupled to a vehicle the coupling members may, for example, be oriented substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The frame may be assembled, for example, by alternately assembling top frame members and support members. Various embodiments may advantageously allow a disassembled frame to be stored within a small sized container suitable for various ground shipping services.

Abstract: An aerial vehicle electrical power system for use with a tethered aerial vehicle, and related methods are provided. The aerial vehicle electric power system includes a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) carried by an aerial vehicle. At least one electrical circuit is carried by the aerial vehicle. The at least one electrical circuit has a DC buck converter electrically in series with at least a portion of the plurality of LEDs. A tether is connected between the aerial vehicle and a power source positioned remote from the aerial vehicle. Electrical power is transmitted to the aerial vehicle and at least a portion of the plurality of LEDs through the tether. The electrical circuit minimizes variances in power supplied to the aerial vehicle and the plurality of LEDs.

Abstract: An example method includes receiving first and second images from a first and second imager. The method further includes determining first correlation scores between a target pixel from the first image and respective pixels from the second image based on a first similarity measure. The method also includes identifying a candidate matching pixel to the target pixel based on the first correlation scores. The method further includes determining second correlation scores between the target pixel and each of the candidate matching pixel, a left neighboring pixel, and a right neighboring pixel based on a second similarity measure. The method also includes determining whether the candidate matching pixel is better correlated to the target pixel than each of the neighboring pixels based on the second correlation scores. After determining that the candidate matching pixel is better correlated, the method further includes determining a disparity value by interpolating the second correlation scores.

Abstract: A hermetically-sealed edge-connect header that can withstand high temperatures, high pressures (or high vacuum levels), and high vibration environments, along with two corresponding connectors are disclosed. After brazing the edge-connect header components, the assembly is machined to form a slot with a portion of each of a plurality of electrical conductors removed in the machining process, resulting in a header with a high pin density. During the process of mating the first connector design to the edge-connect header, a plurality of wipers in the connector deflect, thereby causing the wipers to extend from the connector and contact the corresponding electrical conductors in the header. During the process of mating the second connector design to the edge-connect header, each of a plurality of wipers formed of low-mass, compliant metal wool, forms multiple contact points with a corresponding electrical conductor in the header.
